Job summary

TEGNA Inc. seeks an execution-focused, detail-oriented professional to bridge Finance, Sales, and Operations with technology teams. You will document requirements, drive process and system improvements, and manage multiple workstreams while building strong internal and external partnerships.

You will lead cross-functional collaboration to understand business processes, capture needs, and implement interoperable technology solutions that support TEGNA priorities and efficiency across markets.

Primary objective: To understand each area’s processes and concerns and effectively communicate them to technology teams and other functional teams within TEGNA. Support the formulation, communication, and implementation of process improvements, technology improvements, or both to create effective and efficient interoperability among each group. Serve as a key liaison between business units, technology, and external business partners.

Overall Summary:

Partner with Finance, Sales, and other business partners to review, analyze, and evaluate business and user needs. Based on review sessions, identify, document, and recommend process improvements or system enhancements where applicable; create project plans and drive work through delivery.

Develop and maintain positive and collaborative working relationships with internal technology partners, working in concert with internal teams to support TEGNA business objectives through technology and best practices.

Develop and maintain positive and collaborative working relationships with external technology and business partners to support system improvements that impact TEGNA priorities.

Required to have strong communication, documentation, and relationship development skills that will be utilized in the areas below:

• Determine operational objectives by studying business functions, gathering information, evaluating output requirements, and validating detailed functional specifications
• Collaborate with the business partners in clarifying, updating, and improving their business processes through the implementation of technology changes
• Ability to connect system functions and identify gaps for ongoing and upcoming projects
• Define project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements; coordinating with project teams; and supporting project budget tracking
• Manage project progress by tracking activity, resolving problems, publishing progress reports, and recommending actions to keep work on track
• Ability to efficiently execute own work while effectively managing competing priorities

Technology and Media Knowledge Requirements and Preference:

• Media Industry Experience (requirement); stations/ local (preference)
• Experience in change management (preference)
• Experience leading documenting and implementing process changes (requirement)
• Experience working with external systems vendors (preference)
• Understanding of WideOrbit suite of products (preference)
• Understanding of Salesforce (preference)

Pay Range

$150,000 - $185,000 USD

Our 401(k) program offers full, part-time and temporary employees the opportunity to contribute 1% - 80% of their pay on a pre-tax basis to TEGNA’s 401(k). Contributions made up to the first 4% of pay are eligible for a 100% match from the company and are 100% vested from day one.

Regardless of participation in TEGNA medical plans, ALL employees and their eligible family members receive nine free virtual doctor’s appointments with a physician through Teladoc, and 12 free annual therapy sessions with a licensed clinician through Spring Health.

TEGNA offers a generous Paid Time Off (PTO) benefit as well as nine paid holidays per year.
