TEGNA Inc. is seeking a Systems IT Specialist for TEGNA WFAA-TV in Dallas.

You will manage the integration, maintenance, and support of broadcast and business IT systems, reports to the Supervisor of Technology & Operations, and support both broadcast-specific software and general IT services. The role requires hands-on hardware/software troubleshooting, AD/Group Policy management, and coordination with vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or IT or equivalent education and experience.
• Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
• Experience with or exposure to broadcast IT systems and software such as Teams/Zoom, ENPS, and security tools.
• Good communication with non-technical users and strong interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work onsite in Dallas, TX with flexible hours including overnights/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operations of broadcast IT systems, software, and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair server hardware, software, and network components.
• Maintain system documentation and provide configuration drawings for sites.
• Assist with IT security compliance, patch management, and inventory control.

TEGNA WFAA-TV seeks a Systems IT Specialist. The position is responsible for the integration, maintenance, operation, and support of broadcast and business information technology systems and reports to the Supervisor of Technology & Operations. The position will support broadcast-centric software and hardware as well as traditional desktop and file and print services.

Responsibilities:

• Support day to day operations of broadcast information technology systems, software, and equipment. Maintain, upgrade, and support broadcast Information Technology.
• Troubleshoot and repair computer server hardware, software and peripherals, including network servers, storage, network operating systems, PCs and PC applications, LAN cabling, system security and virus protection.
• Have experience with or knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, Active Directory, Group Policy, Bomgar and Service Now Ticketing in a complex LAN and WAN computing environment. Other system includes Teams, ZOOM, Delinea, Nutanix, ENPS, cloud base storage, WO Traffic, Bitcentral Oasis, Cisco network switches and network circuits.
• Support network security, access rights, naming standards, scripts, and software upgrades.
• Create and maintain wiring documentation, and system configuration documentation. Provide network connectivity drawing of the building and remote sites.
• Maintain knowledge and stay current on technological advances including computer software and hardware, media and entertainment technologies, and workstation products.
• Will training on IT and Broadcast system operation and maintenance to service all aspects of the operation.
• Responsible for IT security compliance including but not limited to disaster contingency, patching management for software and operating system (OS) updates, and IT equipment inventory administration.
• Work closely with the Technology and Operations, Sales, News and corporate IT support.
• Effectively communicate the status of problems, provide updates to progress on projects, and offer solutions to technical issues.
• Liaise with third party vendors (e.g., equipment vendors and software providers) during issue resolution and new platform evaluations
• Be available to work various hours and days including weekends, overnights, and holidays.

Requirements:

• Computer Science or IT related degree or equivalent education and experience
• Solid understanding of current computer hardware, network technologies, and Microsoft's Active Directory environment
• Understanding of file-based multimedia technologies and video edit systems is a plus
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical end users.
• The ability to implement system servers and corporate sponsored system into the environment.
• Have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders and work on elevated surfaces, pull and install wiring, use hand and power tools, work on small components, and perform other physical tasks
• Must be willing to work onsite at our facility in Dallas, TX and must be willing and available to work flexible hours, including overnight shifts, weekends, holidays in order to meet the needs of a 24x7 operation.
