Job summary

Zimmer Biomet in Englewood, Colorado is seeking a Sr. Manager, PMO Governance to lead our R&D project portfolio and drive the governance framework.

You will own the pipeline, ensure on-time, on-budget delivery, and align projects with corporate strategy while leading cross-functional teams across R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, Operations and Marketing. This hybrid role requires onsite presence three days a week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Engineering or Science with 8+ years of project management experience.
• Proven people, risk and change management experience.
• Strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
• Medical device industry experience; PMP or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Govern the R&D portfolio and manage the project pipeline.
• Drive on-time, on-budget project execution with high value.
• Lead cross-functional governance and stakeholder communication.
• Align projects with company strategy and goals.
• Develop KPIs, dashboards, and reporting for the portfolio.
• Oversee budget management and P&L reporting.
• Own process improvements for portfolio and business processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

This is a hybrid position with onsite presence 3 days a week at our Englewood, Colorado facilty.

How You'll Create Impact

• Portfolio Management

• Lead periodic governance mechanisms and manage project Phase Reviews through the Business process

• Develop communication processes and mechanisms defining portfolio and individual project progress, problems, and solutions

• Manage cross-functional collaboration with internal functions including R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, Operations, and Marketing

• Compile and report overall status of R&D pipeline, roadmaps and KPIs across the portfolio of projects

• Define key performance metrics and report on progress of the portfolio and individual projects to all stakeholders

• Develop communication processes and mechanisms defining program and individual project progress, problems, and solutions

• Budget Management

• Collaborate closely with cross divisional peers to ensure appropriate P&L reporting

• Ensure that revenue and P&L variances are captured, accurate and presented during monthly and quarterly meetings

• Process Ownership & Improvement

• Create and manage division tracking tools, dashboards, and output for executive management

• Own continuous improvement of Portfolio and Business processes

• Other duties as assigned

Your Background

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science and 8+ years of solid knowledge and experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in managing projects

• Proven experience in people management, risk management, and change management

• Strong organizational skills with experience concurrently managing multiple tasks or activities

• Individual must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to work both independently and cross-functionally

• Medical device industry experience required

• PMP certification or equivalent preferred

• Experience in managing Hardware and/or Software project execution preferred

Travel Expectations

Up to 15% Overnight Travel

Compensation Data

Salary Range: $128,000-$192,000 depending on skills and experience
