Job summary

JPMorgan Chase in the Consumer and Community Banking division is seeking a Senior Manager of Software Engineering to mentor multiple software teams and drive Java-based enterprise platforms. You will shape technical strategy, coach engineers, and influence budgets and dependencies across functions.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering with 5+ years of hands-on experience.
• 2+ years leading technologists to solve complex technical items.

• Strong cloud experience with AWS and practical CI/CD and security knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers.
• Provide architectural oversight for Java-based enterprise platforms focusing on performance, reliability, and operability.
• Be accountable for decisions that influence resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
• Ensures successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders; align product, engineering, operations, and risk on priorities and outcomes.
• Identifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessary
• Provide architectural oversight for Java based enterprise platforms with a focus on performance, reliability, and operability.
• Strong knowledge of automated testing strategy, including implementation of scalable test frameworks
• Provides input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the team

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification onsoftware engineeringconcepts and 5+ years applied experience . In addition, 2 + years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise

• Ability to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiatives
• Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
• In-depth knowledge of the services industry and their IT systems
• Practical cloud-native experience with AWS cloud computing platforms
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
• Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines
