Job description

Smalls is looking for a Sr Manager of S&OP to own and operationalize our integrated planning process. You’ll be the connective tissue between Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, Marketing, Finance and Retail functions — ensuring that we align customer needs, inventory strategies, and financial goals across a multi-channel, frozen/ambient logistics environment.

What You’ll Do:
  • Create, own and maintain the company demand & supply planning model, continuously iterating on assumptions and underlying analysis

  • Drive cross-functional alignment around forecasts and ensure all stakeholders are informed and aligned when unexpected issues arise

  • Oversee production & inbound plans across 7 manufacturers and 3 DCs

  • Optimize inventory positions across all SKUs (finished goods and raw materials) to avoid out-of-stock events while minimizing cash tied up in inventory and holding costs

  • Lead weekly inventory planning process & meetings, collaborating with Procurement and Supply Chain to execute according to plan

  • Perform any relevant analysis needed to investigate forecasting anomalies and communicate any issues to leadership

  • Lead business case developments, scenario modeling and any ad-hoc analysis as needed within the Supply Chain team

  • Develop, monitor and report on forecasting metrics such as forecast accuracy, inventory turnover, weeks on hand goals, out-of-stock events etc

  • Monitor and report on other Supply Chain KPIs - such as On Time Delivery, Quality metrics, Unit COGS etc

  • Collaborate with Finance to tie operational plans to margin and cashflow targets

  • Support on any other Supply Chain initiatives as needed - such as continuous improvement projects, MRP integrations etc

  • Build out and grow the Inventory Planning function within Supply Chain

What We’ll Love About You:
  • You have worked 10 years or more in operations, supply chain, demand planning, or related roles, with a focus on forecasting and analysis

  • You’re a pro in demand planning tools, inventory management systems and dashboards

  • You’re a true expert in Excel and Google Sheets

  • You have proven success in leading cross-functional planning in fast-paced, continuously evolving, SKU-heavy environments

  • You are a strong communicator who thrives in ambiguity and drives decisions with clarity & data

  • You are highly organized, love to build process, and obsessed with getting in the details.

  • Huge Plus: You have a degree in Operations management, Business, Industrial Engineering, Finance or any other math related field

  • Huge Plus: You have experience in DTC, CPG, frozen foods or pet nutrition

What you’ll love about us:
  • Mission-Driven Company: We love cats and we're here to make nine lives ten.

  • People-Driven Company: We treat our people like people; we're committed to Smalls, and we work hard but also respect everyone’s lives outside of work.

  • Data-Driven Culture: We love using data to guide decision-making where appropriate, but we also know when to move quickly and go with our gut.

  • Competitive Salary: Make some $$$.

  • Very Competitive Benefits: Fully paid Health, Vision, and Dental insurance. 4-day work week. Unlimited PTO.

  • Fully Remote Office & Culture: Our team is spread across the US day to day, but we travel for department & company off-sites and retreats.

  • Free Product: Free cat food every month.
