About the Role

The Sr. Manager, Materials Fulfillment leads material fulfillment activities to guarantee material availability and support production requirements across the manufacturing operation. This role provides operational leadership to the Planner/Buyer team, driving disciplined execution of material planning, supplier fulfillment, and inventory targets. The position maintains primary ownership over Clear-to-Build (CTB) readiness, Safety Stock fulfillment, Supplier On-Time Delivery (S-OTD), RAW Days on Hand (DOH), Excess & Obsolete (E&O) inventory performance, and MRP exception management/integrity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership & Prioritization: Lead and develop the Planner/Buyer organization, establishing daily priorities to satisfy production requirements and maintain material availability.
  • Clear-to-Build (CTB) & Shortage Mitigation: Drive CTB execution, proactively identify supply constraints, lead root-cause problem solving, and prevent production line interruptions.
  • Safety Stock Fulfillment: Establish, monitor, and enforce Safety Stock fulfillment levels aligned with inventory targets and PFEP replenishment strategies.
  • Supplier Performance & Delivery (S-OTD): Monitor Supplier On-Time Delivery performance, coordinate corrective actions with external suppliers and Procurement, and resolve fulfillment bottlenecks.
  • Inventory Optimization (DOH & E&O): Actively manage RAW Days on Hand (DOH) and control Excess & Obsolete (E&O) inventory as a percentage of total inventory to optimize working capital.
  • MRP Discipline & Data Integrity: Govern ERP master data parameters and drive disciplined, timely resolution of MRP exception messages to ensure planning system integrity.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Materials Planning, Production Control, Procurement, Logistics, and Manufacturing Operations to eliminate material constraints.
  • Risk Escalation & Visibility: Identify and escape critical supply chain risks, establishing formal recovery plans and providing transparent executive visibility into fulfillment KPIs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive ongoing process improvements across material fulfillment, inventory accuracy, and planning operating mechanisms.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) CTB / Safety Stock: Material availability measured against scheduled production requirements and safety stock parameters. S-OTD: Supplier delivery performance evaluated against purchase order required dates. RAW DOH: Raw material inventory levels tracked through Days on Hand. E&O %: Excess and obsolete inventory managed as a percentage of total plant inventory. MRP Integrity: Timely review and resolution of MRP exception messages and planning master data issues.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 7+ years of experience in Materials Planning, Production Control, Supply Chain, or Materials Management within a manufacturing environment.

  • 5+ years of experience managing raw inventory, supplier/material constraints, and plant production requirements.
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams or coordinating the daily activities of Planner/Buyers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in complex industrial or equipment manufacturing operations.
  • Deep understanding of MRP parameters, Safety Stock modeling, Clear-to-Build (CTB) tracking, and PFEP methodologies.
  • Demonstrated track record managing supplier delivery performance (S-OTD) and raw inventory DOH/E&O metrics.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally across Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Production Control, and Warehousing/Logistics.
  • Strong track record identifying supply chain risks, establishing recovery plans, and driving corrective action.
