Job Description

This marketing role serves as the Universal Destinations & Experiences (UDX) liaison for overseeing IP partner relationships, integrating cross-functional marketing programs at Universal Studios Japan (USJ), and leveraging and complying with global brand guidelines.

MARKETING PARTNERSHIPS (USJ)
  • Develop and maintain relationships with international and domestic IP and licensing partners for review, approval, and use of IP in marketing creative, products, and experiences. Collaborate with Universal Creative strategy team to identify IP opportunities while maintaining global alignment.
  • Serve as the IP brand expert to review and advise the local marketing team on materials for IP and licensing partners.
  • Coordinate with IP partners on presentations of film/TV/product launches to foster synergistic products and cross-promotional opportunities.
  • Engage with legal teams to ensure adherence to licensing parameters and brand guidelines.
  • Co-Lead Strategy & Creative Review sessions to ensure long-term planning, UDX alignment, and best practices.
  • Provide expertise on USJ symphony planning and execution with UFEG, UP&E, and other affiliates.
BRAND ASSURANCE (USJ)
  • Establish and maintain UDX’s global brand standards, advising on local programs and cultural considerations.
  • Review materials for brand guideline compliance and give direction to USJ team, escalating as needed.
  • Provide input on activities as UDX best practices.
  • Review nomenclature and translation of consumer-facing materials for brand fit and message accuracy.
  • Participate in global brand assurance sessions to share insights and develop the UDX brand.
  • Collaborate globally to identify efficiencies and ensure consistency across products and experiences.
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL MARKETING INTEGRATION
  • Attend meetings to stay informed of marketing activities and KPIs.
  • Understand local socio-cultural and economic contexts to inform planning.
  • Share knowledge to assist in planning integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Develop localized workflows for efficiency and stakeholder visibility.
  • Consult with global leaders and subject matter experts to share best practices.
