Your Impact

The primary purpose of this role is to lead a team of multi-disciplinary infrastructure engineers in Data Center Network Engineering that develop and support on-premises IT Infrastructure systems in our enterprise data centers, which is a 24x7x365 mission-critical organization. This team handles deployment, decommissioning, firmware maintenance, lifecycle management, and automation for the network layer, including server and storage connectivity, switches, routers, and network fabrics. They also research, test, develop, and implement new technologies and services. This role requires collaboration with other IT infrastructure teams, understanding of agile development, Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)/Infrastructure as Code, and a focus on continuous improvement.

This individual manages people, setting expectations, delegating, managing performance, identifying talent needs, and coaching team members. As a Senior Manager, they will help develop roadmaps, establish strategies, onboard new services, and create training plans.

This position is based at our on-site Tech Hub in Charlotte, North Carolina, an ultramodern environment with cutting-edge technology, collaborative workspaces, an on-site barista, and other perks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and support Software Defined Network (SDN) fabrics for enterprise-scale workloads.
  • Support core routers, switches, and routing protocols connecting data centers to cloud, corporate, and retail locations.
  • Design and support cloud interconnects for multiple Cloud and SaaS environments.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions supporting infrastructure systems.
  • Lead global teams in designing, building, and maintaining infrastructure systems.
  • Build partnerships with leadership to align technology with business needs.
  • Analyze infrastructure effectiveness and recommend improvements.
  • Lead talent acquisition, goal setting, performance management, and team development.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, CIS, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8 years of IT experience.
  • 4 years in infrastructure engineering across multiple domains or platforms.
  • 3 years leading project or technical teams, providing technical direction and mentorship.
Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Master's degree in relevant fields.
  • 3 years in infrastructure engineering leadership, project management, or IT consulting.
  • Experience working with third-party IT vendors.
  • Leadership experience with direct reports.
  • Experience in large matrixed organizations.

  • Experience managing cloud technologies (GCP, Azure, OCI, AWS).
  • Knowledge of Cisco ACI, VXLAN, SDN fabrics.
  • Designing dynamic routed networks with BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, or IS-IS.
  • Experience with data center network technologies.
