Position Purpose
In this position, the Sr. Manager Finance will be expected to provide financial leadership, direction, and analysis to the functional management team. The Sr. Manager Finance will play a key role in driving functional metrics, controlling costs, and working closely with the Director of Finance and functional leaders to achieve business goals and create shareholder value through the planning process. This position will be responsible for developing financial planning, reporting, and leading a team of professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Analysis/Problem Solving: Understand the business, identify and implement process and organizational improvements, participate in budget preparation, review expenditures, and ensure goals are met.
- Project Management: Develop strategic alliances, participate in cross-functional activities, and facilitate communication across departments.
- Team Leadership: Lead and coordinate work teams, utilize metrics to track performance, and ensure compliance with operational policies.
- Financial Forecasting and Reporting: Predict revenues and expenditures, conduct financial planning, and report to management.
- Drive Financial Metrics: Lead efforts to improve key financial metrics of the function.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports
- Typically reports to the Director of Finance.
- Responsible for supervising work activities, including planning, monitoring, and reviewing team performance. May involve direct supervision or coordination of multiple groups. Responsible for hiring, performance appraisals, and professional development recommendations.
Travel Requirements
- Less than 10% overnight travel expected.
Physical Requirements
- Primarily sitting with occasional movement; may need to lift light articles rarely.
Working Conditions
- Indoor, comfortable environment with infrequent unpleasant conditions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Legally permitted to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA preferred.
- Experience leading analysis or planning teams preferred.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
- At least 6 years of relevant work experience.
Leadership & Certifications
- No minimum leadership experience required; none preferred.
- No certifications required.
