Job summary

Netskope is seeking an experienced Senior Manager to lead the DSPM Engineering team at scale, shaping AI-driven security solutions across cloud and on-prem environments. You will drive strategy, align engineering with business goals, and mentor a high-performing group of engineers.

You'll oversee architecture reviews, cross-team collaboration, OKRs, budgets, and delivery of large distributed systems, balancing technical excellence with timely delivery while advancing data-centric security.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience building large-scale enterprise applications and distributed systems.
• 4+ years of engineering management experience leading teams of 10+ engineers.
• Proficiency in backend languages (Scala, Java, Python, Go) and API design; experience with Docker/Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate ambiguity.
• Proven cross-functional leadership and influence without authority.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Product-minded with ability to translate customer needs into outcomes.

The Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) Engineering team builds large-scale, distributed systems that identify, monitor, and secure sensitive data across both cloud and on-premises environments. • Team ManagementLead and develop a team of engineers by setting clear expectations, delivering regular feedback, and coaching individuals on performance, growth, and career development.
• Technical LeadershipProvide technical direction through code and design reviews, high-level engineering decisions, and active participation in architecture and system design discussions.
• Strategic PlanningDefine the team’s mission and strategy, ensure alignment with organizational goals, and build a mid-term technical roadmap that drives product and platform evolution.
• Project OversightOwn team commitments, OKRs, and project outcomes; manage project budgets; and oversee the planning and deployment of large-scale, distributed systems.
• Cross-Team CollaborationPartner closely with other engineering and product teams, negotiate priorities and trade-offs, and serve as a trusted liaison by bringing deep technical insight into cross-functional decision-making.

Required Skills and Experience

• 10+ years of software engineering experience building large-scale enterprise applications and distributed systems.
• 4+ years of engineering management experience recruiting, developing, and leading technical teams of 10+ engineers, with a strong focus on talent growth and performance management.
• Proficiency in modern backend languages (e.g., Scala, Java, Python, Go) and frameworks; expert-level API design and relational data modeling skills; experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Strong hands-on problem-solving skills and the ability to structure and navigate ambiguity.
• Proven cross-functional leadership, with the ability to influence, align, and drive teams without direct authority.
• Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information, facilitate consensus, and drive alignments, especially when managing competing priorities and trade-offs.
• Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
• Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical and regulatory concepts to diverse audiences.
• Strong product mindset, with experience understanding customer requirements, prioritizing for impact, and measuring adoption and satisfaction.

Education

• BSCS or equivalent required, MSCS or equivalent strongly preferred
