We are hiring a Sr Manager, EHS & Fleet Safetyto join our CJ Schwan’s EHS Leadership Team and will report directly to the VP of EHS. You will play a key role in leading the Fleet Safety & Compliance transformation for our Global Supply Chain and Consumer Brands Direct Store Delivery (DSD) Organization. This role will lead and support an extended team of indirect reports across the organization. Responsibilities:

  • Engage, motivate, influence, and be able to align at all levels, implementing EHS & Fleet Safety strategies to reduce incidents, drive compliance and build capability across the enterprise.
  • Act as change agent working collaboratively with the Sales leaders, Fleet Safety & Transportation Teams, and the functional EHS leaders in the organization to drive improvements and compliance.
  • Deploy the overall risk improvement strategies & compliance for Commercial Motor Vehicles and personally owned vehicles used across our business and operationalizing the critical steps in our field-based operations that support our EHS Management System and overall fleet risk improvement strategies.
  • Lead the commercial motor vehicle safety and fleet safety operations, including DOT and OSHA compliance experience.
  • Develop best-in-class Fleet Safety programs for the improvement of the overall EHS strategy and execution of that strategy execution. Identify and execute technology improvements in crash reduction and in DOT compliance, development and deployment of detailed action plans to drive improvement in areas of opportunity, ensure auditing leads to actions to close compliance gaps, and improve audit scores across the enterprise.
  • Up to 35% domestic travel to support the East Region of the US

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years in an EHS leadership role, including experience in Fleet Safety or Fleet Management
  • Expertise in DOT regulations and compliance systems (FMCSA, DQFs, drug testing, incident management)
  • Proven success leading multi-site or regional programs and teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years in EHS leadership roles within CPG, transportation, manufacturing, or grocery industries
  • Experience in a Direct Store Delivery (DSD) operation highly preferred

Compensation and Benefits:

The base salary range for this position is $104,625 - $174,375 annually with eligibility for a 20% annual incentive bonus, which is based on organizational performance. The salary range represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to education, skills, work experience, certifications, geography etc. As such, starting pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent

Years of Related Experience: 8-10 years related work experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Previous Management Experience in Risk Management/Safety area. Working knowledge ofFederal and State regulations with respect to OSHA, Workers# Compensation, ADA, EPA regulations, USDA and otherapplicable Acts and a demonstrated/leadership role. Experience in Loss Control, Consulting, or Industrial Health andSafety. Experience in Managed Care, Return-To- Work, and/or Claims Management. Ability to effectively superviseemployees. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to conduct training sessions andgive presentations to small and/or large groups of people.
