Job summary

P.F. Chang’s in Scottsdale, Arizona is seeking a Senior Manager, Data Platform to own the data model, architecture, and integrations while leading a technical team. This role will help build AI-enabled BI capabilities that drive faster decisions, greater efficiency, and cost reduction.

Responsibilities include guiding platform modernization, improving data integrations, and ensuring data quality and governance. Office-based with in-office minimum 3 days/week at the Global Support Center.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years in data engineering, DB admin, data architecture, or related field.
• At least 3 years of experience leading a technical team.
• Strong SQL and relational database design knowledge.
• Experience designing enterprise data integrations across multiple systems.
• Experience enabling AI/ML for BI, such as forecasting or automated insights.
• Knowledge of data warehousing, BI/reporting tools, and modernization.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.
• Ability to translate analytics needs for non-technical partners.

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Manager, Data Platform to join our IT team at our Global Support Center in Scottsdale, Arizona. The Senior Manager, Data Platform will own our data model, database architecture, and integrations while leading a technical team. This role will also help build AI-enabled business intelligence capabilities that support faster decisions, greater efficiency, and cost reduction.

Job Responsibilities :

• Own the Data Foundation: Maintain and evolve the company’s data model, database architecture, and table structures across the enterprise data platform.
• Lead Platform Modernization: Assess current data architecture and integrations, identify gaps, and guide redesign or re-platforming when needed.
• Build and Improve Integrations: Set standards for data flows across business systems, working with internal technology teams and outside vendors.
• Stay Hands-On: Write and review SQL queries, build data views, and prepare reports and analyses for business and technical stakeholders.
• Enable AI-Driven Insights: Develop data capabilities that support predictive analytics, forecasting, and automated insights for field and leadership teams.
• Lead and Develop the Team: Coach and grow data architects, database administrators, engineers, and BI professionals.
• Set Technical Standards: Guide database administration, data warehousing, ETL and integration development, and BI and reporting delivery.
• Support Business Partners: Work with departments across the company to translate their reporting and analytics needs into reliable, reusable data structures.
• Strengthen Data Governance: Maintain data quality, definitions, lineage, governance, and access controls.
• Protect Platform Reliability: Oversee the security, performance, and reliability of production databases and pipelines, including Tier 2 and Tier 3 support.
• Evaluate Tools and Vendors: Recommend data, integration, BI, and AI platforms; manage related vendor relationships and contracts.

Job Requirements:

• 7–10 years of progressive experience in data engineering, database administration, data architecture, or a related data platform field.
• At least 3 years of experience directly managing or leading a technical team.
• Strong SQL skills and a deep understanding of relational database design, data modeling, and schema structures.
• Experience designing and owning enterprise data integrations, such as APIs, ETL/ELT, or middleware, across multiple business systems.
• Experience building or enabling AI and machine learning capabilities for business intelligence, such as predictive analytics, forecasting, or automated insight generation.
• Knowledge of data warehousing and BI or reporting tools.
• Experience evaluating legacy data structures and leading modernization efforts.
• Strong project management and prioritization skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical partners.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in restaurant, retail, or another multi-unit operating environment.
• Experience with cloud data warehouse platforms, modern ETL or integration platforms, or BI and visualization tools.

Location:

This is primarily an office-based position (in-office minimum 3 days/week) located at the P.F. Chang’s Global Support Center in Scottsdale, Arizona 85255. Candidates must currently reside in the greater Phoenix area and live within a reasonable commuting distance of the office.
