PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $164,200.00-$200,600.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $127,900.00 - $237,200.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE :

As the Senior Manager Credit Risk Officer at BECU, your contributions will play a crucial role in shaping the credit risk strategies for our Auto and Other Secured portfolios. Your expertise will drive the enhancement and maintenance of an acceptable level of risk within these portfolios, leading to substantial positive change in BECU’s journey.

  • This role can be done remotely in WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, SC, GA, and is relocation eligible.

WHAT YOU’LL DO :

  1. Ensure Compliance and Competency: Perform all responsibilities according to BECU competencies, compliance, regulatory, and information protection practices.
  2. Participate in Decision-Making Forums: Engage as a member of the Credit Risk Committee and present at Board and Executive Management committees and meetings.
  3. Support Credit Policy & Strategy: Partner with the VP, Credit Policy & Strategy with department administration and management initiatives as required.
  4. Develop and Manage Strategies: Devise and manage strategies and guidelines across BECU's portfolios, aligning with federal and state regulations.
  5. Identify Opportunities and Threats: Identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats to the BECU portfolios, adapting practices in response to industry trends and best practices.
  6. Optimize Lending Decision Engines: Evolve lending and account management decision engines to align with risk strategies, operational efficiencies, and member experience.
  7. Lead Documentation and Communication: Develop and oversee consistent documentation of BECU's policy framework and maintain effective communication with regulatory bodies and auditors.
  8. Oversee Team Resources: Manage team resources, employee development, budgetary, and administrative tasks to foster a collaborative work environment.
  9. Coach and Mentor Staff: Mentor and train assigned staff, conducting regular performance and career development reviews.
  10. Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and coordinate with other departments and personnel to ensure the same.
  11. Manage Budget and Vendor Contracts: Develop the annual budget for department expenditures and manage vendor contracts within areas of responsibility to ensure member satisfaction.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Minimum Qualifications :

  1. Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, mathematics, or economics or equivalent work or education experience.
  2. Minimum 5 years of relevant credit risk management experience
  3. Minimum 5 years of experience in the financial industries with a focus on one or more of the following areas: Consumer Auto, Consumer Title and Other Secured.
  4. Minimum 5 years of people management experience
  5. Minimum 5 years of experience with presentation development software (e.g., Tableau, PowerPoint, etc)

Desired Qualifications :

  1. Effective leadership and negotiation skills
  2. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to learn and use new software
  3. Broad experience influencing change or understanding through impactful presentation to all levels of the organization.
  4. Demonstrable knowledge of industry practices and regulatory restrictions
  5. Proven ability to provide a credible challenge to peers and management based on established subject matter expertise
  6. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new software quickly.
