Job summary

Westlake Chemical Corporation in Houston seeks a Sr. Manager, Corporate Security to lead the Corporate Security Team and shape the global security strategy, policies and standards for all Westlake facilities worldwide.

This role partners with Executives and site leaders to ensure compliance, manage risk, and coordinate cyber-physical security initiatives while directing budget and performance metrics across the HSE function.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, security or a related field.
  • 15 years minimum experience in Security related roles. Previous leadership experience in Corporate Security working within large, international manufacturing companies is preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of security operations and related laws, regulations and industry standards.
  • Experience with change management – development and implementation of new policies/procedures valuable
  • Strong collaboration, facilitation, organization, interpersonal and computer skills, with a good working knowledge of related databases and applications, and excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Capable of developing and managing multiple projects
  • Exhibits positivity, passion, integrity and accountability
  • Able to work in a team-oriented environment and lead team projects and collaboration
  • Possesses conflict resolution skills to achieve desired outcomes
  • M akes valuable contributions to HSE function and is a sounding board for security related issues across other business functions. Takes initiative to find areas for improvement and recommend solutions and routinely demonstrates those capabilities.
  • Ability to obtain a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, supervision and development of Corporate Security Team.
  • Develop and maintain an effective global expert network to ensure active engagement and input of sites and regional HSE teams.
  • Promote collaboration with Executives, Business and Manufacturing stakeholders to support understanding and implementation of Westlake security policies, procedures and minimum standards.
  • Define and execute strategy, programs, training, risk assessments and actions to identify and mitigate security related risks to protect personnel, sites, assets and other stakeholders.
  • Establish and oversee the global corporate security operating model, including guard force management, and security vendor governance.
  • Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity to ensure integration of physical and information security controls and mitigation of cyber-physical risks
  • Monitor and manage company travel security platform and coordinate response to any security risks or events to ensure traveler safety
  • Conduct security risk assessments to establish effective security measures for key executives.
  • Ensure manufacturing sites maintain regulatory compliance with security related requirements as required. Ensure effective security measures to control and monitor access are maintained.
  • Maintain effective monitoring and risk assessment of threats and intelligence
  • Lead investigations and coordinate with law enforcement to respond to critical threats or events
  • Act as a coordinator during Corporate Crisis Management response.
  • Prepare and manage annual budget for Corporate Security.
  • Develop and maintain security performance metrics, audit programs, and reporting processes to ensure continuous improvement and executive visibility

Education

SUMMARY

The Sr. Manager, Corporate Security is responsible for leadership of the Corporate Security Team, creating and maintaining the overall corporate security strategy, policies, and standards to ensure the safety of employees, property, and assets. The scope includes all Westlake and its subsidiaries’ business and manufacturing facilities worldwide. Contributes as a member of the Global HSE Leadership Team and acts independently under guidance from Executive Management.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk and climb; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and infrequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee must frequently make minor decisions requiring limited judgement, general decisions in the absence of specific directions, and perform activities requiring sustained concentration.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is sometimes moderate when working in an office, however, some of the work may be required in the operating units which mandate usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs. Some travel (up to 25%) may be required in the performance of duties.
