Xylem, a Fortune 500 global water solutions company, seeks an Engineering Manager in Colorado Springs to lead a team of Application Engineers focused on capital solutions with North American scope and some global opportunities.

You will provide Go/No-Go support, oversee discovery quality, manage the opportunity funnel, mentor staff, and collaborate with sales and cross-functional teams to deliver compliant, high-impact proposals while pursuing safety and environmental goals.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's in chemical engineering with substantial experience; 3–5 years of people management experience.
• Proficiency with integrated business management and CRM software.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Application Engineers supporting work in primarily North America, with some global opportunities.
• Provide opportunity Go/No Go support.
• Review opportunities for sufficient Discovery.
• Manage the opportunity funnel and assignment to engineers.
• Collaborate with engineers and scientists to develop new technologies and solutions.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase productivity.
• Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure proposals meet industry standards.
• Coordinate with cross functional teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Provide technical support to customers and colleagues.
• Stay up to date with industry developments and trends to provide expert advice.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental regulations.

The Engineering Manager is responsible for managing a team of Application Engineers focused on Xylem’s capital solutions. This role involves providing opportunity Go No Go support, reviewing opportunities to assure they have the appropriate level of discovery, and assignment of opportunities to various Application Engineers. Collaboration with a team of engineers and effective communication with stakeholders (sales) are also key aspects of this job.

Qualifications:

• A master’s degree in chemical engineering with 7+ years of experience or a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, or related engineering field, with at least 10 years of experience or equivalent work experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts. 3-5 years of people management experience required.
• Proficiency in integrated business management and CRM software.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

Minimal travel required, 20% or less.

The estimated salary range for this position is $130k to $160k. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
