Job summary

Glint Tech Solutions LLC seeks a Sr. Manager / Director of Application Engineering to be the primary technical interface between customers and global engineering and manufacturing teams.

You will lead customer-facing engineering activities across the product lifecycle, from connector selection and design support through validation, NPI, production launch, and post-launch issue resolution, coordinating cross-functional teams worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or related field.
• 8+ years of Application Engineering / Field Application Engineering experience.
• Experience with connectors, interconnects, or precision electronic components.
• Deep understanding of 2D/3D drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
• Proficient with CAD tools such as Creo or SolidWorks.
• Experience with global customers and customer-facing technical projects.
• Fluent English and Mandarin Chinese for business and technical communication.

Responsibilities

• Partner with customers to understand technical requirements and propose connector solutions.
• Lead design-in and design-win activities across programs.
• Translate customer needs into engineering specifications.
• Coordinate sample evaluation, testing, and customer approvals.
• Interface between customers and internal R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing teams.
• Support NPI, ECN, DFM, FAI, product qualification, and validation.
• Drive cross-functional resolution of technical issues.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Manager / Director of Application Engineering to serve as the key technical interface between customers and our global engineering and manufacturing teams.

This role will lead customer-facing engineering activities throughout the product lifecycle, from early-stage connector selection and design support through validation, NPI, production launch, and post-launch issue resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with customers to understand technical requirements and recommend appropriate connector and interconnect solutions
• Support early-stage design activities, technical proposals, product demonstrations, and design reviews
• Drive customer design-in and design-win activities
• Translate customer requirements into product and engineering specifications
• Serve as the primary technical interface between customers and internal R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing teams
• Support NPI, ECN, DFM, FAI, product qualification, and validation
• Coordinate sample evaluation, testing, and customer approval

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field
• 8+ years of Application Engineering / Field Application Engineering experience
• Strong background in connectors, interconnects, or precision electronic components
• Deep understanding of connector design, materials, and manufacturing processes including stamping, molding, and assembly
• Experience supporting global customers and customer-facing technical projects
• Ability to read and interpret 2D/3D drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications
• Experience with CAD tools such as Creo or SolidWorks
• Strong problem-solving, project management, and cross‑functional collaboration skills
• Fluent English and Mandarin Chinese for business and technical communication

Preferred Experience

• Familiarity with FMEA, SPC, 8D, PPAP, and APQP
• Experience supporting product development from concept through mass production
• Experience working with global OEMs and engineering teams
• Knowledge of high‑speed, RF, automotive, consumer electronics, or other advanced interconnect applications
