Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions in Santa Clara is seeking a seasoned Field Applications Engineer to serve as the primary technical contact for customer accounts, recommending connector and interconnect solutions from concept through qualification.

You will partner with Sales, Engineering, Product Management, and Manufacturing to secure design wins, deliver technical presentations and reviews, and identify customer needs and business opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in a customer-facing engineering or technical sales role.
• Connector/interconnect product knowledge; CAD proficiency in Creo or SolidWorks.

Serve as the primary technical contact for customer accounts, recommending connector and interconnect solutions and supporting customers from concept through qualification and production. Partner with Sales, Engineering, Product Management, and Manufacturing to secure design wins, deliver technical presentations and reviews, and identify customer needs and business opportunities.

Requirements

• Requires a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, plus at least five years of experience in a customer-facing engineering or technical sales role.
• Candidates should have connector or interconnect product knowledge, experience supporting product development and qualification, CAD proficiency with Creo or SolidWorks, and strong communication and presentation skills.
• a mechanical engineering background and relevant industry experience are preferred.
