Job description

Our client is seeking a Sr. Manager, Application Development - Salesforce to lead multiple application development teams responsible for designing, developing, modernizing, and supporting secure, scalable, cloud-enabled enterprise applications.

This role will provide technology leadership across the Bank’s Salesforce, Member Engagement, and Governance/Risk/Compliance portfolios, including custom applications, SaaS platforms, workflows, reporting, integrations, and Salesforce ecosystem solutions.

The Sr. Manager will serve as a hands‑on technical leader, guiding architecture and engineering decisions, removing delivery roadblocks, promoting modern development practices, and ensuring high-quality software delivery.

  • Provide senior technology leadership across the Bank’s Member Engagement, Salesforce, CRM, and GRC platforms, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, reliable, and aligned with business priorities.
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to translate needs into sustainable solutions, drive platform maturity, develop high-performing teams, and maintain operational, audit, and regulatory readiness.
  • Strengthen Agile delivery, engineering practices, and Salesforce governance by improving delivery predictability, modernizing applications, embedding security and quality, managing tradeoffs, and using metrics to drive continuous improvement.
What you can expect:
Technology Leadership & Engineering Excellence:
  • Lead technology strategy and engineering across the Bank’s Member Engagement and Salesforce portfolio, ensuring applications, integrations, workflows, and platforms are secure, scalable, reliable, and aligned with business goals.
  • Oversee the full software development lifecycle, from architecture and development through testing, deployment, operational readiness, and production support.
  • Guide engineering teams in modern practices, including API-first design, reusable components, automated testing, secure coding, code reviews, and CI/CD.
  • Provide technical leadership and escalation for complex application, integration, security, performance, stability, and modernization challenges.
Cloud, AWS & DevSecOps Delivery:
  • Lead teams building and operating AWS applications with a focus on security, reliability, scalability, automation, performance, and cost optimization.
  • Drive cloud-native practices, including infrastructure as code, containers, managed services, CI/CD pipelines, and application telemetry.
  • Champion DevSecOps by embedding security, testing, quality, governance, and compliance throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Ensure applications have effective monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational support to improve reliability and reduce issue resolution time.
Agile Scrum Delivery Leadership:
  • Lead Agile/Scrum application teams, ensuring effective sprint planning, backlog management, predictable delivery, and measurable outcomes.
  • Use Agile, engineering, and operational metrics to improve team performance, delivery predictability, quality, and continuous improvement.
Business Partnership & Stakeholder Management:
  • Build trusted partnerships with business, risk, governance, and compliance leaders to understand priorities, risks, and desired outcomes.
  • Translate business needs into technology roadmaps, capabilities, delivery plans, and solutions aligned with strategic goals.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership, business partners, vendors, and delivery teams.
  • Identify technology opportunities, delivery risks, resource needs, and modernization opportunities, providing clear recommendations to leadership.
Talent Development & High-Performing Teams:
  • Hire, develop, coach, and retain strong engineering talent across management, development, cloud, testing, and application support.
  • Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, inclusion, and business partnership.
  • Set clear performance expectations, provide feedback, support career development, and develop future technical and leadership talent.
  • Strengthen team capabilities and succession planning to support modern cloud-based software development.
Risk, Security, Compliance & Operational Readiness:
  • Ensure applications and engineering practices meet security, compliance, audit, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with Cybersecurity, Risk, Compliance, Audit, and Infrastructure teams to embed controls throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Promote secure coding, vulnerability remediation, automated testing, change control, and audit readiness.
  • Ensure production changes are tested, controlled, observable, and aligned with enterprise risk standards.
Strategy, Planning & Financial Management:
  • Support application portfolio strategy, technology roadmaps, annual planning, budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation.
  • Lead modernization initiatives across digital transformation, application rationalization, API integration, resiliency, data integration, and legacy transformation.
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of custom applications, SaaS, Salesforce, integrations, workflows, and reporting solutions with clear ownership and lifecycle planning.
  • Track delivery, capacity, financial impact, operational health, and modernization outcomes to support leadership decisions
What You’ll Bring:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 15+ years of software engineering/application development experience, including 5+ years leading engineering teams.
  • 8+ years of Salesforce leadership experience, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, integrations, governance, and enterprise delivery.
  • Experience leading Salesforce, CRM/member engagement, risk, compliance, workflow, reporting, and SaaS application portfolios.
  • Proven success delivering business-critical applications using Agile/Scrum, modern engineering practices, and AWS.
  • Strong technical expertise in Angular, Java, .NET/.NET Core, APIs, microservices, CI/CD, DevSecOps, automated testing, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Strong business partnership and stakeholder management skills with experience translating business needs into technology solutions.
  • Experience leading application modernization, cloud migration, and digital transformation in regulated environments.
  • AWS and Agile/project management certifications (PMP, CSM, PSM, SAFe) preferred.
  • Experience with GitHub, GitHub Actions, IaC, observability tools, and modern engineering toolchains preferred.

Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 (based on experience) + Benefits.
