Job summary

Mohawk Industries, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Manager Accounting - Revenue Recognition to oversee daily accounting operations, including journal entries, GL reconciliations, and financial reporting in compliance with GAAP, IAS, and SEC. This role guides close processes, audits, and strategic system improvements.

You will lead a team, ensure SOX compliance, and contribute to acquisitions and mergers while developing robust accounting charters and controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
• 8-10 years’ relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
• 3-5 years of management experience.

Responsibilities

• Manages the close process for assigned areas, analyzes financial data, and prepares reports in GAAP, IAS, and SEC.
• Assists in footnotes and accounting information for SEC reports and the annual report.
• Leads acquisitions, mergers, system implementations, conversions, and upgrades.
• Develops charters for accounts to ensure efficient system integration.
• Reviews processes to streamline activities and optimize resources.
• Leads, motivates, and manages a diverse team.
• Ensures procedures align with GAAP, IAS, and SEC.
• Researches financial fluctuations and verifies data accuracy.
• Facilitates quarterly and annual audits and liaises with auditors.
• Performs other duties as needed.

What we need:

The Sr Manager Accounting is a senior‑level manager that proactively oversees the daily operation of the accounting department. This role is responsible for journal entries, general ledger account reconciliation, preparation, and review, SOX and company compliance, and financial reporting management.

What you’ll do:

• Manages the close process for assigned areas,reviews and analyzes financial data, and prepares financial reports, all in compliance with the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Internationals Accounting Standards (IAS), and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
• Assists in the preparationof footnotes and related accounting information to be included in the SEC reportsand the Annual Report for shareholders.
• Plays a keyleadershiprole in acquisitions and mergers, system implementation, conversions,and upgrades.
• Develop charters for accounts that ensure efficient and effective systems and process integration.
• Reviewsprocesses and procedures to streamline activities, enhance the overall workflow of the department, and facilitateeffective and efficient use of resources.
• Lead, motivate,and manage a group of diverse employees.
• Ensure that all procedures, practices, and policies align with GAAP, IAS, and SEC.
• Research and document financial fluctuationsandcollect datato verify accuracy of fluctuations.
• Facilitatequarterly and annualaudits andserve as a liaison for internal and external auditors.
• Perform other duties as needed.

What you have:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related fieldor equivalent education and/or experience.
• 8-10 years’ relevant experienceor equivalent education and/or experience.
• 3-5 years of management experience.
• CPA certification preferred.

• Strong understanding of GAAP, IAS, and SEC.
• Proficiency in software such as Recon-net, SAP, JDE,MicrosoftOfficeapplications,etc.
• Develops intermediate understanding of people management practices and managing small teams of direct reports.
