Job Summary

This role is part of the Accounting & Reporting department and oversees a team of managers and employees across multiple significant accounting functions for Nintendo of America and its subsidiaries.

Description of Duties
  • Manages and oversees functional areas of financial and accounting business.
  • Provides accounting expertise, analysis, and reporting to operational divisions and executive management.
  • Represents finance in new business developments and discussions.
  • Establishes policies, procedures, and practices in compliance with GAAP, internal control initiatives, and federal and state audit and tax requirements.
  • Participates in the preparation of financial statements, including disclosure footnotes.
  • Researches and recommends solutions on technical accounting issues, applying GAAP to company‑specific transactions and accounts.
  • Identifies, proposes, and directs strategies for automation and process‑efficiency improvements with company-wide impact.
  • Ensures compliance with JSOX requirements in documentation and execution of stated processes.
  • Reviews and manages project plans related to assigned functional areas.
  • Monitors performance, provides feedback, guidance, training, and task direction to staff.
  • Advises on non‑Finance projects, offering business guidance and insight while representing the Finance function’s needs, reporting requirements, and internal controls, and their impact on key performance indicators.
Summary of Requirements
  • 10+ years of related experience, including 3–5 years of management experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of financial procedures and requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and federal and state regulations.
  • Proven experience in process and systems development and risk assessment.
  • SOX/JSOX knowledge or equivalent internal controls experience.
  • Manages meeting and event planning and execution for Nintendo of America, executives, and subsidiaries; develops departmental plans.
  • Applies knowledge of key business drivers that maximize department performance.
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or a combination of equivalent education and work experience.
Eligibility & Application

Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

This position is hybrid and requires regular onsite work in Redmond, WA. The role is not open to fully remote status at this time.

Compensation & Benefits

The position includes a base pay range of $145,150 — $261,200 USD, potential for a semi‑annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
