Job summary

Target is seeking a Sr Manager, Inventory Accounting in Minnesota to provide strategic direction and leadership over the Import, Freight and Purchases Accounting Team. You will ensure effective processes and controls for timely, accurate financial statements across domestic and import activities.

In this role, you’ll oversee the core accounting function for domestic and import receipts, domestic and import freight (and related claims), duties/tariffs (including First Sale accounting program), royalties and other timing-related inventory accruals. You’ll work with cross functional partners in order to translate business operations into financial statement activity. Some of these partners include: Global Trade, Risk and Controls, Import Logistics, Product Teams, Merchandise and Supply Chain Finance, and Target Technology. You’ll also have indirect leadership with the Target in India Accounting team to ensure accurate and timely import and receipt accounting. Using your influencing skills, you’ll use insights and data to advocate for Finance in enterprise-wide initiatives and system modernizations, ensuring new solutions meet our requirements for timely and accurate financials as well as operational excellence.
