Sr Maintenance Technician - LGV

The Sr. Maintenance Technician ensures equipment uptime through timely troubleshooting and repair of all equipment failures. They share knowledge of all production equipment with the maintenance team and operators and act as a subject matter expert in areas such as injection molding, blow molding, filling/capping, labeling, case packing, conveyors, palletizers, stretch wrappers, and water filtration equipment. The technician performs troubleshooting and repairs on facilities and auxiliary equipment, collaborates with team members, and develops best practices aligned with Niagara's maintenance strategies. They champion continuous improvement and assist in training within their focus areas.

Essential Functions

  • Adhere to safety and good manufacturing practices plant-wide.
  • Train and lead operators, mechanics, and supervisors on technical procedures related to high-speed bottle manufacturing and packaging.
  • Develop and execute projects involving continuous improvement, upgrades, and problem resolution.
  • Rapidly identify machine problems, conduct root cause analysis, and implement solutions to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Partner with other technicians to resolve cross-functional issues.
  • Use software systems to analyze issues and improve throughput performance.
  • Overhaul and rebuild equipment during planned downtime.
  • Transfer knowledge to team members to develop operating and troubleshooting procedures in bottling and injection technology areas.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications include 6 years of experience in a maintenance manufacturing environment, 6 years in the specific position, and 4 years managing people/projects. Effective communication, schematics reading, shop equipment skills, and proficiency with measuring tools are required. Preferred qualifications include over 10 years of relevant experience, specific expertise in fields like blow molding or injection molding, and skills in fabrication, electrical systems, and control systems.

Education

  • Minimum: High School Diploma or GED.
