Sr. Maintenance Technician (Injection Mold)

The Sr. Maintenance Technician ensures equipment uptime through timely troubleshooting and repair of all equipment failures. They share knowledge of all production equipment with the maintenance team and operators, acting as a subject matter expert in areas such as injection molders, blow molders, fillers/cappers, labelers, case packers, conveyors, palletizers, and stretch wrappers. They perform troubleshooting and repair of facilities and auxiliary equipment like chillers, air compressors, Reverse Osmosis, and other water filtration systems. The role involves working directly with Maintenance Technicians, machine Operators, Supervisors, and Managers to resolve mechanical issues, develop and implement maintenance best practices, and champion continuous improvement and training initiatives.

Essential Functions

  • Train and lead Operators, Mechanics, and Supervisors on technical procedures related to high-speed bottle manufacturing and packaging.
  • Collaborate with plant leadership on projects involving continuous improvement, upgrades, and problem resolution.
  • Identify machine problems rapidly to minimize downtime, conducting root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
  • Partner with other Sr. Maintenance Technicians to resolve cross-functional problems.
  • Analyze issues using available software systems to drive throughput performance.
  • Overhaul equipment during planned downtime to restore it to like-new condition.
  • Transfer knowledge to team members to develop operating and troubleshooting procedures in bottling production and injection technology areas, including PET processing, filling/capping, labeling, dry-end packaging, and equipment from OEMs like Krones, Sidel, KHS, Sacmi, Tech Long.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 6 years of experience in a maintenance manufacturing environment.
  • 6 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Previous experience maintaining injection mold machines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in maintenance manufacturing.
  • Experience managing people or projects.
  • Experience with packaging or beverage fields.
  • Experience with equipment from Krones, Husky, Sidel, etc.

Education

  • Minimum: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Preferred: Associate's Degree in manufacturing or related field.
