Sr. Maintenance Technician - Blow Mold

The Sr. Maintenance Technician ensures equipment uptime through timely, in-depth troubleshooting and repair of all equipment failures. They share knowledge of all production equipment with the maintenance team and operators, acting as a subject matter expert in areas such as injection molders, blow molders, fillers/cappers, labelers, case packers, conveyors, palletizers, and stretch wrappers. The role involves troubleshooting and repairing facilities and auxiliary equipment like chillers, air compressors, water filtration systems, and general plant maintenance. The Sr. Maintenance Technician collaborates with various teams to resolve mechanical issues and develops best practices aligned with Niagara's maintenance strategies, championing continuous improvement and training.

Essential Functions:

  • Adhere to and enforce safety and good manufacturing practices plant-wide.
  • Train and lead operators, mechanics, and supervisors on technical procedures related to high-speed bottle manufacturing and packaging.
  • Work with plant leadership on projects involving continuous improvement, upgrades, and problem resolution.
  • Rapidly identify machine problems to minimize downtime, conducting root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
  • Partner with other Sr. Maintenance Technicians to resolve cross-functional problems.
  • Use software systems to analyze issues and improve throughput performance.
  • Lead overhaul efforts to rebuild equipment during planned downtime.
  • Transfer knowledge to team members to develop operating and troubleshooting procedures in areas such as blow molding, filling, labeling, and dry-end packaging, including OEM-specific equipment.
  • Create SOPs for troubleshooting machines and upload them to the BDA system, ensuring machine reliability.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance and be available on-call to ensure equipment and facility uptime.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • 6+ years in a maintenance manufacturing environment.
  • 6+ years in the specific role.
  • 4+ years managing people or projects.

Preferred:

  • 10+ years in maintenance manufacturing.
  • 10+ years in the specific role.
  • 6+ years managing people/projects.

Additional preferred experience includes working with specific equipment brands, leading process improvements, and having fabrication skills.
