Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Sr. Maintenance Technician to oversee maintenance of critical building systems and lead shift operations within a highly automated facility.

You will troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical systems, mentor technicians, and partner with automation teams to ensure uptime and safety. The role requires 4+ years' experience with automated conveyors, PLCs, and CMMS, along with strong problem-solving and leadership abilities.

About the Role

In this role, you will support the maintenance and operation of critical building systems within a client’s facility. As a Sr. Maintenance Technician, you will lead shift operations, troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and automated systems, and ensure equipment reliability and uptime. You will provide technical direction and mentorship to technicians, partner closely with Automation support teams, and help maintain safety, quality, and operational standards in a highly automated environment.

What You’ll Do

• Repair, maintain, and continuously improve functionality of materials handling equipment (MHE) and robotic systems throughout the facility.
• Lead and audit preventative maintenance procedures.
• Install, maintain, and solve relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components, photo-eyes, motor starters, limit switches, proximity sensors, solenoids, etc.
• Lead and mentor work plan for emergency repair of critical assets and training plans for Maintenance Technicians.
• Build and close out work orders in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Cultivate positive working relationships with our Client and Operations Maintenance team members.
• Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.

What You’ll Need

• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• 4+ years of experience working with automated conveyors and controls.
• Proficient using computers and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
• Experience with MHE safety standards in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Safety standards.
• Knowledge of electrical and electronic principles, National Electrical Code (NEC), and/or industrial electronics.
• Ability to conduct preventative and procedure-based maintenance.
• Experience reading blueprints and schematics.
• Experience with Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) programs.
• 3+ years of work order management.
• Ability to use and interpret statistical equipment to run metrics such as OEE/Up Time to prioritize accordingly.
• Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs / ladders and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50lbs. or more.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
• Previous leadership experience.
• Previous vendor management experience.
• Experience with robotic maintenance.
• Experience with CMMS
• Certification preferred in one or more of the following: electronic, electrical, mechanical, access control servers, PLCs, process controls, robotics, or mechanical power transmissions.
