Position Summary

As a Senior Machinist, you will produce machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine. Work from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions, may make tool adjustments as necessary. Check and inspect machining operations against specified tolerances, including maintaining quality and safety standards. May identify and repair minor machine malfunctions.

Essential Functions
  • Maintains organization, cleanliness, and housekeeping within the work area and reports any maintenance issues encountered
  • Handles new parts from print to finished product
  • Verifies conformance of finished work‑piece to specifications using various measuring tools such as: CMMs, calipers, micrometers, comparators, and vision systems
  • Reviews blueprints, process drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensional conformance to quality requirements; identifies and corrects discrepancies accordingly
  • Contributes to lean initiatives by identifying and providing suggestions on areas for improvement
  • Participates in developing advanced manufacturing processes by establishing best practices to ensure the highest quality and output of the machine
  • Confers with engineers, production, quality, programmer personnel, or others to resolve complex machining problems
  • Provides training and guidance to other team members
  • Performs other duties as assigned
