Description

Position Summary: The POS Sr. Logistics Specialist manages Freight Budgets, Distribution Lists, Tracking, and Reconciliation for nearly 1,000,000 shipments annually. Daily tasks include routing LTL/FTL/Parcel shipments, project-based tracking, and strategic planning of package/pallet sizes to ensure Freight Estimates and a 98% on-time delivery rate.

Essential Job Functions

Main responsibilities include sourcing transportation for DC, Small Package, Bulk, and Consolidation distributions.

DC Shipments

• Create freight budgets
• Manage carrier relationships
• Utilize industry knowledge for market pricing and seasonal trends
• Coordinate with carriers on mode selection
• Collaborate with printers on pallet builds
• Conduct warehouse P.O. audits and provide service metrics
• Manage transportation bids and review carrier performance

Small Package Shipments

• Create freight budgets
• Interpret small package contracts and standards
• Assist with bids and minimize accessorial charges
• Coordinate with project managers and vendors
• Audit bills and manage payments

Consolidation Programs

• Determine optimal geographic locations for pricing
• Work with stakeholders to optimize pallet and product footprints
• Create master consolidation sheets and load plans
• Implement transportation bids and monitor service levels
• Maintain project library and service metrics
• Provide input on cost implications for design projects

Position Requirements/Qualifications
