A Day in the Life

Sr. Global Logistics Manager

This position will lead logistics initiatives, ensure deployment of all Deliver transformation standards across manufacturing sites, develop and deploy best practices, and drive continuous improvement. The role involves leading large-scale cost savings projects, driving efficiencies, and collaborating closely with senior leadership across manufacturing sites and the global deliver team to address logistics needs.

Remote (Candidates in MA, CT preferred)

  • Lead network changes involving opening and closing of raw material warehouses and manufacturing cross docks.
  • Lead KPI reviews with 3PL providers and drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop and prioritize opportunities and action plans to improve service and reduce costs across the network.
  • Partner with finance to review freight spend, assess risks, and lead projects to reduce variance vs. the Annual Operating Plan.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing sites and cross docks to drive process standardization and deploy best practices.
  • Identify cost savings opportunities to achieve 5-6% YoY cost reduction.
  • Work with the Deliver Center of Excellence to meet service, sustainability, and cost targets.
  • Deploy transportation knowledge and training within manufacturing sites.
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives and collaboration.
  • Lead contingency planning and risk management activities as needed.
Qualifications – External
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
Nice to Have
  • Bilingual Spanish-English
  • Experience in multinational companies with diverse cultures, matrix organizations, and regional responsibilities.
  • Experience in Medical Device or Life Science industry.
  • Strong transportation and distribution knowledge, including transportation planning, TMS, and cross dock operations.
  • Results-oriented with ability to meet deadlines and financial targets.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives.
Travel

Ad hoc travel to Medtronic locations as needed.
