Job summary

Dairy Challenge in Kansas City is seeking a Transportation Planning and Logistics Analytics lead to oversee systems administration, data governance, and accurate payments for haulers, carriers, and members. You will coordinate across operations, dispatch, accounting, procurement, and IT to drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in business, logistics, supply chain, analytics, information systems, finance, transportation, distribution management; equivalent combo may be considered.
• 3 to 7 years of experience in logistics planning, transportation operations, dispatch support, analytics, or related fields.
• Experience with transportation management systems, routing software, logistics technology platforms, ERP systems, reporting tools, and settlement systems.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support transportation management systems, routing software, dispatch applications, settlement platforms, reporting tools, SAP integrations, and related logistics technologies.
• Maintain master data for carrier, producer, customer, route, rate, location, and other entities to ensure data integrity.
• Monitor interfaces, resolve data and transaction errors, and support testing, implementation, and continuous improvement of logistics systems.

Lead and support transportation planning, logistics analytics, dispatch coordination, transportation systems administration ensure efficient, accurate, and cost-effective movement of products and milk. This role combines heavy analytical responsibilities with logistics planning, system maintenance, data governance, dispatch-related coordination, and financial transaction accuracy for haulers, carriers, and members. The position serves as a key liaison among operations, dispatch, haulers, plants, members, customer service, accounting, procurement, and technology teams to drive continuous improvement, maintain system integrity, resolve transportation issues, and support accurate payment processing.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Administer and support transportation management systems, routing software, dispatch applications, settlement platforms, reporting tools, SAP integrations, and related logistics technologies
• Maintain carrier, producer, customer, route, rate, location, and other master data to ensure system accuracy, data integrity, and operational reliability
• Monitor system interfaces, resolve data and transaction errors, and support troubleshooting, testing, implementation, and continuous improvement of logistics systems and processes
• Develop and maintain process documentation, user procedures, training materials, and best practices to promote operational consistency and user adoption
• Collaborate with logistics, customer service, accounting, IT, procurement, legal, field, and operations teams to resolve issues, improve processes, and implement effective solutions
• Analyze transportation, distribution, and supply chain performance, including routing efficiency, service levels, fleet utilization, profitability, costs, and operational trends
• Utilize forecasting, data analysis, process mapping, modeling, and performance metrics to identify cost-saving opportunities and support network optimization initiatives
• Develop and distribute reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators to support decision-making and measure operational performance
• Plan and coordinate transportation activities to meet producer, customer, carrier, and plant requirements while maximizing service, efficiency, and asset utilization
• Support dispatch operations by coordinating transportation resources and proactively addressing service disruptions, delivery delays, route changes, and other operational issues
• Assist with transportation planning, demand forecasting, budgeting, settlement administration, billing reconciliation, and financial exception management
• Maintain accurate transportation, operational, and financial records to support reporting, audits, compliance requirements, and business objectives
• Lead or support special projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and other assignments that contribute to departmental and organizational goals
• Provide exceptional customer service and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Requirements

Education and Experience

• Undergraduate degree in business, logistics, supply chain, analytics, information systems, finance, transportation, distribution management, or related curriculum; equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered
• 3 to 7 years of experience in logistics planning, transportation operations, dispatch support, logistics analytics, transportation systems administration, settlement/payment processing, supply chain operations, or related experience
• Experience with transportation management systems, routing software, logistics technology platforms, ERP systems, reporting tools, settlement systems, and large-volume transactional data preferred
• Certification and/or license may be required during course of employment

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Strong knowledge of transportation, logistics, dispatch operations, distribution networks, supply chain planning, and the economics of logistics operations
• Advanced analytical skills with ability to evaluate trends, costs, KPIs, forecast data, service performance, route efficiency, system exceptions, and operational root causes
• Knowledge of transportation management systems, routing software, dispatch systems, settlement systems, Microsoft Office Suite, reporting tools, and company computer systems
• Able to maintain data integrity, troubleshoot system issues, resolve errors, document processes, and communicate system requirements clearly
• Able to interact positively, influence cross-functional partners, support stakeholders, and work effectively with operations, plants haulers, carriers, members, accounting, customer service, procurement, legal, and technology teams
• Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, including translating technical or analytical findings into practical business recommendations
• Able to multi-task, prioritize competing responsibilities, make sound independent decisions, and perform duties with limited supervision while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
