Job summary

Peraton in Annapolis, MD seeks a seasoned Systems Administrator to support a National Security program. Responsibilities include deploying and patching Linux systems, installing software, and maintaining documentation while monitoring operations and addressing issues.

Candidates should have TS/SCI with polygraph, DoD 8570, and 15 years of experience; a technical bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Strong scripting (Shell, Ansible or SALT) and AWS/VPC experience are highly desired.

Highly Desired Skills:

• Minimum of 6 years’ recent experience managing Linux based systems
• Experience with AWS environment for managing VPC's, configuring and deploying virtual systems.
• IAVAs STE/STN and system patching
• Experience with Elastic Search functionality
• Knowledge of Network Protocols
• Experienced providing customer support
• Understanding of fundamental networking and distributed computing environment concepts, Linux desktop systems, performance tuning and capacity planning of servers (hardware and software levels)
• Ability to write Shell and Ansible or SALT scripts.
• Write and maintain system technical documentation.
• A self-starter who can work closely with the team but requires little oversight in completing requires SA tasks.
