Job summary

Labcorp in Holyoke, MA is seeking a Senior Reference Test Clerk to join our reference testing team. You will act as liaison between reference testing labs, clients, and patients, and you will manage specimen handling and transcription of reports.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced production environment, and solid communication skills. Monday–Friday with rotating weekends; pay range $20.75–$24.75 per hour with shift differential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience handling specimens and a basic understanding of lab processes is desirable.
• Strong communication and data entry skills.

Labcorp is seeking a Senior Reference Test Clerk to join our team in Holyoke, MA.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday and rotating weekends (8am-4:30pm)

Job Responsibilities

• Act a liaison between the reference testing labs, clients, and patients
• Resolve internal & external Customer requests via calls, instant messenger & email communications
• Communicates with customers in respectful and professional manner
• Work in multiple databases to research complex issues and questions
• Provide customer education and information as needed
• Review test forms for accuracy and report any discrepancies
• Transcribe reports from reference labs into Labcorp systems
• Utilize various logistics providers to ship to multiple locations around the country.
• Prepare & triage specimens for analysis
• Accurately identify and label specimens
• Prepare and store excess specimen samples.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 months or more of specimen processing experience
• 3 months or more of medical or laboratory experience

• Comfortability with handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
• Ability to work in a fast paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

Pay Range

Pay Range:$20.75-$24.75/hr. Shift Differential

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

• Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
• Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
