Job summary

Crete Carrier Corporation seeks an experienced IT professional to oversee the development and implementation of iSeries applications. You will resolve complex issues, code, test, and maintain systems, while mentoring peers and guiding new technologies.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree or substantial related experience, strong problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured environment. Standard Monday–Friday schedule with full-time hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 8–10 years related experience.
• Knowledge of RPG, RPG-ILE, SQL, CL, and DB2 is required.
• Experience with iSeries AS400 development and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Plans, codes, tests, modifies, and implements applications and systems.
• Prepares specifications and performs programming, testing, conversion, and implementation planning.

Job description

Oversees the development and implementation of iSeries applications while serving as a resource to others to resolve complex IT issues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Plans, develops, codes, tests, modifies, debugs, and implements applications and systems throughout the Company.
• Prepares detailed specifications and performs programming, testing, conversion, and implementation planning.
• Codes in various languages and technical platforms based on program specifications.
• Analyzes existing programs and recommends changes in development, maintenance, or system standards.
• Designs complex functionality within applications and provides multifaceted solutions.
• Documents requirements in order to translate information into technical specifications.
• Develops testing plans to ensure effective functionality.
• Provides guidance to team members on complicated assignments and mentors on new technologies.
• Administers training for users during system implementation as needed.
• Receives and carries out instructions.
• Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

Education and Experience
