MedStar Health is seeking a Senior Interventional Radiology Technologist for Medstar Washington Hospital Center in the Washington, DC area. You will coordinate daily activities and schedules for the radiology team's interventional procedures and assist the radiologist in complex angiographic cases.
Requirements include an Associate's degree, a CHEA/METC-accredited Certificate in Radiologic Technology, ARRT with CV/CI or VI, and CPR/ACLS.

AsaSenior Interventional Radiology Technologist,you willcoordinate daily activities and schedules for the specialprocedure'scomponentof the Radiology department to ensure effective and efficient patient services.Assiststhe interventional radiologist in the performance of complex diagnostic and therapeutic angiographic procedures.

Functions as senior resource/team leader,coordinatesongoing workflow and activities of staff level radiologic technologists, nurses, and ancillary support personnel. Establishes work schedules and staff assignments to ensureappropriate 24-hourcoverage.
Performs and/orassistsin all angiographic and interventional imaging procedures, myelography, arthrography, and venography. Schedules patients, prepares andpositionspatients, equipment and supplies neededforeach procedure. Uses immobilization devices and radiation protective measures during the operation of imaging equipment. Evaluates radiographs for technical accuracy and quality.
Utilizes physical assessment skills,monitoringdevices (pulse, respiration, blood pressure, EKG), intravenouscareand aseptic techniques inprovidingpatient care.
Providesinput for and/or recommends personnel actions including performance appraisals, merit increases, and promotions for assigned personnel. Resolves minor grievances and may recommend disciplinary action when necessary. May serve aseducationalresource and/or coordinate student/staff instruction. Participates in quality assurance activities andprovidesliaison support between physicians, technicalstaff,and department management.
Reviews and makes recommendations for revision of policies, procedures, and/or regulations. Distributes and/or implements changes andrevisions,as necessary.Providesinputregardingbudgetpreparation andmakes recommendations for equipment and supply purchases. Collects statistical data for administrative and regulatory adherence. Establishes andmaintainsproductive communication networks in the department and Hospital-wide.
Associate's degree required or
Certificate (before Jan.1 2015) in Radiologic Technology from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the US Department of Education (USDE) Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or Medical Education and Training Campus (METC). required
3-4 years Minimum 3 years experience in vascular interventional environment (cardiac cath vascular or neuro interventional area) required
ARRT Registered with American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT) with advanced certification in Cardiovascular (CV) Cardiac Interventional (CI) or Vascular Interventional (VI) required.
ARRT Registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technology ARRT (R) and (CT) or NMTCB (CT) preferred.
CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation Basic and/or Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification required.
This position has a hiring range of : USD $42.82 - USD $78.27 /Hr.
