Job summary

Kohler Co.'s Beacon internal agency is seeking an experienced set/interior designer to translate creative briefs into compelling 3D space renders for bathrooms, kitchens and in-store merchandising. Onsite role in Kohler, WI with four days per week in the studio and regular client presentations.

You will develop concepts, build presentations in InDesign, maintain material libraries, and collaborate with Art Directors and Photographers to deliver standout designs that meet budgets and timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Fine Arts / Science in Interior Architecture & Design or related degree.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a set/interior designer.
• Portfolio required with relevant interior design work.
• Experience collaborating with Art Directors and Photographers in an agency or studio.

Responsibilities

• Flawless 3D renderings of home spaces, including bathrooms, kitchens and in-store merchandising solutions.
• Decorate spaces with interior décor to provide direction to the prop stylist.
• Develop concepts and solutions based on creative briefs.
• Produce and compile presentations to clients using InDesign.
• Attend weekly production and project meetings and manage timelines.

Opportunity

At Kohler Company’s internal agency, the Beacon, we are a powerhouse group of talented creatives that develop new innovative ideas, daily. We have an internal studio where we build and photograph/video all of Kohler’s assets, and we are looking for an experienced set/interior designer to join the team. This highly creative, passionate and motivated individual will fluently concept, develop, design and render all 3D spaces that depict ever-growing global design trends. Spaces include bathrooms, kitchens, or merchandising in stores.

Location

Onsite, four days per week- Kohler, WI

You will be required to lead engaging presentations of your design work, with conviction and passion. You will be providing a memorable client experience and are constantly searching for insightful ways to go above and beyond to meet the needs of your clients. You will be creating custom designs with details and new ideas that embrace the thoughts of your clients, ultimately elevating them to the next level.

Specific Responsibilities

• Flawless 3D renderings of home spaces, including bathrooms, kitchens and in-store merchandising solutions.
• Decorate spaces with interior décor to provide direction to the prop stylist.
• Collect materials samples for presenting your work and maintain the material library.
• Develop concepts and solutions based on creative briefs.
• Produce and compile beautiful presentations to send to clients, using InDesign.
• Constantly evolve and grow with design software and keep abreast with design trends.
• Design spaces with an impeccable eye for multiple styles of design and budgets.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Self-starting and collaborative with other Beacon Creatives.
• Attend weekly production and project kick-off meetings. Collect the information and set your own timeline to achieve the deadline.
• Provide general set build direction to the studio, monitor build development and be available for questions.
• Provide engaging presentations of your design work.

Skills/Requirements

• Bachelor of Fine Arts / Science in Interior Architecture & Design or related degree.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a set/interior designer.
• Experience in interior decorating is a plus.
• Must have an updated design portfolio to be considered.
• Proven success with working with Art Directors and Photographers in an advertising agency or design studio.
• Daily software usage of SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite. Must have working knowledge of CAD software.

The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation.
