Job summary

Sonata Software invites a Sr. Developer Integration- OIC to join our enterprise integration team in Irvine, CA.

You will design and build integrations and APIs using Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) and Anypoint Platform across cloud and on-premise systems. You will collaborate with architects, analysts and application teams to translate requirements into technical designs, implement REST services, and deliver reusable integration assets supporting digital initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/SE/IS or equivalent practical experience.
• 5–8 years of enterprise integration experience with middleware and APIs.
• Proven experience with OIC or both OIC and Anypoint Platform.
• Track record delivering API design and data flows in enterprise settings.
• Experience with data transformations, mappings, error handling, monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop integrations, APIs, and data flows using OIC and Anypoint.
• Develop REST services and API-led connectivity with secure, scalable patterns.
• Collaborate with analysts, architects, and app teams to define designs.
• Support and optimize runtime, monitor incidents, perform root-cause analysis.

Purpose of the Job

The Sr. Integration Developer – OIC & plays a key role in the enterpriseintegration team, responsible for designing and building integration solutionsand APIs using Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) and Anypoint Platform. This role ensures thatmultiple systems—cloud and on-premise—communicate reliably, securely andefficiently. The Sr. Integration Developer will work under the guidance ofarchitect/principal roles, participate in defining and applying integrationstandards, and deliver reusable integration assets that support businessprocesses and digital initiatives.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design and developintegration solutions – Build integrations, APIs, and data flows betweenenterprise applications (ERP, CRM, HCM, data platforms) using OIC and ; translate functional/business requirementsinto technical design and deliver high-quality solutions. – 60%
• Implement APIs &integration patterns – Develop REST services, implement API-led connectivity,apply integration patterns (synchronous, asynchronous, batch, event-driven) andensure performance, scalability and security of integration solutions. – 20%
• Collaboration andrequirements translation – Work closely with business analysts, architects andapplication teams to understand integration requirements, define interfacedesigns, document data mappings and jointly perform technical feasibility andimpact analysis.– 10%
• Support, monitor andoptimize integration runtime – Assist in platform monitoring, incidentresolution, performance tuning, root-cause analysis of integration failures,follow-up with corrective actions and ensure integration solutions run reliably.–5%
• Adopt and supportintegration standards & best practices – Contribute to the development andusage of reusable artifacts (connectors, templates, patterns), follow CI/CD andversion control practices for integration deployments, maintain documentationand assist in mentoring less-experienced developers. – 5%

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree inComputer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalentpractical experience.
• Typically 5-8 years ofhands-on experience in enterprise integration development (or equivalent)working with middleware, APIs and/or integration platforms.
• Proven experience witheither OIC or —or ideally both,inimplementing integrations in hybrid cloud/on-premise environments.
• Demonstrated trackrecord of delivering integration projects (API design, data flows, applicationconnectivity) in enterprise settings.
• Exposure to designingdata transformations, mapping, error handling, monitoring and operationalsupport of integration flows.

Knowledge and skill level:

Technical Knowledge & Skills:

• Strong knowledge ofintegration lifecycle concepts: API management, message queuing/messaging,transformation, orchestration, scheduling, error handling.
• Practical experiencewith Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC): building integrations using adapters,process automation, cloud-to-on-premise connectivity.
• Practical experiencewith Anypoint Platform: designing andbuilding APIs, connectors, integration flows, applying API-led connectivitypatterns.
• Good understanding ofweb services (REST, SOAP), data formats (JSON, XML), API security standards(OAuth 2.0, JWT), and integration protocols (AS2, SFTP, MQ, HTTPS) and hybridarchitectures.
• Familiarity with cloudplatforms (for example OCI, AWS), hybrid deployment models, and DevOps/CI-CDpipelines for integration delivery.
• Strong troubleshootingand analytical skills: able to diagnose integration failures, analyzelogs/traces, optimize flows, ensure reliability and performance.
• Effective communicator:able to interact with application owners, architects and peers; translatebusiness needs into technical requirements.
• Team-player:collaborates with cross ‑ functional teams(DevOps, QA, security, operations) and contributes to a shared integrationpractice.
