Job summary

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. seeks a Controls Technician to join a growing team delivering PLC-based control systems for municipal water and wastewater projects. This hands-on, field‑based role offers autonomy, real‑world problem‑solving, and exposure to cutting‑edge instrumentation and automation in critical infrastructure.

You’ll troubleshoot, test, and repair PLC/HMI systems, calibrate instrumentation, install VFDs, and support commissioning in diverse field environments, with ~30% travel.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Electrical Technology or equivalent hands‑on experience.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens).
  • Experience with HMI systems (FactoryTalk or similar).
  • Experience with VFD installation and maintenance.
  • Experience with industrial instrumentation and calibration.
  • Experience with process‑related controls.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, test, and repair PLC‑based control systems.
  • Perform instrumentation calibration (flow, pressure, level, temperature, transmitters).
  • Install, modify, and service VFDs and motor control systems.
  • Execute control panel modifications and system upgrades.
  • Support commissioning and startup of automation systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues across Allen‑Bradley and Siemens PLC/HMI platforms.
  • Work directly with customers in the field, ensuring high‑quality service and communication.
