Cenovus Energy seeks a Sr. Instrumentation and Electrical Maintenance Planner at the Lima refinery. The role reviews, estimates, purchases and records all work requests including labor, tools, materials and equipment.

You will plan work activities within the COIMS framework, ensuring safety and policy adherence. You will align with Maintenance Supervisors, Crafts, Operations and Purchasing to optimize efficiency and cost management, while maintaining comprehensive maintenance records for

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or equivalent is not required; but 8+ years of related experience in refinery/plants is required.
• Journeyman Certificate required; Engineering Technology/Construction related assets are a plus.
• Experience ordering material and services, preparing bid packages, and contracting with suppliers/vendors.

About this opportunity

Cenovus is seeking a Sr. Instrumentation and Electrical Maintenance Planner to join the team at our Lima refinery. This role is responsible for reviewing, estimating, purchasing and keeping a record of all work requests; which includes requests for labor, tools, material and equipment. This position plays a fundamental role in planning work activities, ensuring safe work practices and ensuring company policies and procedures are adhered to. In addition, the person in this position is expected to perform all duties in accordance with the COIMS (Cenovus Operations Integrity Management System) framework.

What you’ll do

• Manage work requests received from and authorized by maintenance service users.
• Coordinate all details relation to completion of work requests—Work Scope, Labor, Tools, Material and Equipment. (This includes management of work order reporting by the tracking and recording of all costs associated with specific work orders.)
• Plan, estimate costs and request the staff, material and equipment necessary for approved work requests.
• Ensure work plans follow safety practices, procedures and company policies.
• Manage maintenance records essential for the Planning and Scheduling Department to provide effective operations.
• Work effectively and cooperatively with Maintenance Supervisors, Maintenance Crafts, Operations and Purchasing Departments in a proactive manner to coordinate and schedule the planned work to achieve maximum efficiency and cost management.

Who you are

• Legally authorized to work in the US.
• High School diploma, GED or equivalent, and Journeyman Certificate required; Engineering Technology, Construction Technology or Construction Management an asset.
• 8+ years of related experience in a refinery or petrochemical plant, including experience in planning and scheduling maintenance work required; supervisory experience is an asset.
• Previous experience in ordering material and services, preparing and evaluating bid packages, and developing contracts with suppliers/vendors.
