Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Infrastructure Engineer - Deployment Team based in the United States. The Sr. Infrastructure Engineer - Deployment Team will lead the deployment, operation, and support of a sophisticated software platform across diverse customer environments. This hands‑on role spans the entire technical delivery lifecycle, from pre‑sales infrastructure planning to production troubleshooting and ongoing customer support. You will collaborate closely with customers, sales teams, product engineers, and infrastructure specialists to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable deployments. The position involves working across cloud, on‑premises, and air‑gapped environments, including highly regulated and security‑sensitive settings. You will leverage Kubernetes, infrastructure‑as‑code, networking, and identity management technologies to build repeatable deployment solutions and resolve complex technical challenges. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced infrastructure professional who combines deep technical expertise with customer‑facing communication, a consulting mindset, and a passion for automation.

Accountabilities
  • Platform deployment and operations: Deploy, configure, maintain, and support platform services across customer environments using Terraform and Helm, including Amazon EKS, Azure AKS, OpenShift, and on-premises Kubernetes deployments.
  • Cloud networking and connectivity: Configure and troubleshoot customer networking requirements, including firewall rules, VPN/IPSec connections, DNS coordination, and connectivity between systems and environments.
  • Identity and access management: Implement and troubleshoot identity provider integrations and federated authentication using SAML, OIDC, single sign‑on (SSO), Active Directory, Keycloak, PingFederate, Okta, and Azure AD.
  • Secure data sharing: Deploy and operate cross‑organization data‑sharing services, including Secure Sync, key management service (KMS) policy exchange, IAM roles, and Amazon S3 access configurations.
  • Infrastructure automation: Develop, maintain, and improve infrastructure‑as‑code packages, deployment automation, and reference architectures that support consistent customer‑managed installations.
  • Production troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve complex infrastructure, networking, Kubernetes, and application issues while maintaining clear, timely communication with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Customer technical engagement: Work directly with customers to understand deployment requirements, define technical solutions, support implementation, and ensure reliable operation across varied infrastructure environments.
  • Cross‑functional collaboration: Partner with sales, product engineering, and infrastructure teams to scope deployments, resolve technical challenges, and continuously improve platform reliability and deployment practices.
  • Security and compliance: Support deployments within established security and compliance baselines, including regulated cloud environments, on‑premises infrastructure, and isolated or air‑gapped networks.
  • Continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to improve automation, deployment documentation, troubleshooting processes, and operational consistency across customer environments.
Requirements
  • Professional experience: At least five years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure engineering, network engineering, platform engineering, site reliability engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
  • Kubernetes and container platforms: Demonstrated experience operating Kubernetes in production and deploying applications with Helm charts and Kubernetes packaging practices.
  • Infrastructure as code: Practical experience using Terraform or comparable infrastructure automation tools to build and maintain repeatable deployment configurations.
  • Networking expertise: Strong understanding of cloud networking, firewalls, VPN/IPSec, DNS, identity and access management (IAM), and secrets management.
  • Identity and authentication: Experience integrating identity providers and federation protocols, including SAML, OIDC, SSO, and Active Directory.
  • Database fundamentals: Knowledge of database operations, including transaction write‑ahead logging, backup and recovery procedures, and monitoring.
  • Graph query technologies: Experience with graph query languages such as SPARQL, Cypher, DQL, or comparable technologies.
  • Scripting and automation: Proficiency in Python, Bash, Ansible, or similar tools for automating infrastructure operations and troubleshooting.
  • Customer‑facing delivery: Experience working directly with external customers in technical implementation, consulting, platform deployment, or support roles.
  • Troubleshooting and problem‑solving: Strong analytical skills and the ability to diagnose complex issues in production environments, particularly across distributed infrastructure and networked systems.
  • Communication and collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Citizenship requirement: Must be a U.S. citizen.
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience with AWS GovCloud, Azure Government IL4/IL5, or other regulated cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with OpenShift, ROSA, or other specialized Kubernetes distributions.
  • Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, NIST, SOC 2, or CMMC.
  • Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, or Linux+, AWS Solutions Architect Associate; AWS SysOps Administrator Associate; Azure Administrator Associate; or equivalent credentials.
  • Experience using network analysis tools such as Wireshark or tcpdump.
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL, cloud storage platforms, and production networking architectures.
  • Experience with service meshes or advanced Kubernetes networking technologies such as Istio and Envoy.
  • Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance.
Benefits
  • Annual base salary: $135,000-$220,000, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, location, and business needs.
  • Potential additional compensation: The role may be eligible for bonuses and equity in addition to base salary.
  • Benefits package: A comprehensive benefits package is offered, although specific details regarding healthcare, retirement plans, paid time off, and other benefits were not provided and should be confirmed during the hiring process.
  • Remote work: Remote position open to candidates located anywhere in the United States, subject to the role's requirements.
  • Technical impact: Opportunity to work on complex infrastructure deployments spanning cloud, on‑premises, and security-sensitive environments.
