Business Development Officer

The Business Development Director will collaborate with the Americas Corporate sales team to enhance Moody's presence by creating connections, developing client relationships, and identifying growth opportunities. Focus areas include: Industrials, TMT, Consumers, and sub-sectors.

  • Understand client base and market opportunities globally within the sub-sector.
  • Coordinate with sales, product, and marketing teams to drive engagement and raise awareness of Moody's capabilities.
  • Develop relationships with senior stakeholders (CIOs, CFOs, CCOs, CEOs, CROs) and participate in client advisory boards.
  • Increase self-initiated meetings to expand touchpoints within our Strategic Corporate business.
  • Participate in industry events to expand Moody's reach.
  • Establish links with industry associations.
  • Identify new opportunities through events, networking, profiling, and market intelligence.
  • Collaborate with product management to share market feedback.
  • Work with management to identify growth opportunities.
  • Support colleagues and provide leadership on opportunities.
  • Refer client leads to sales teams.
  • Coordinate with marketing on outreach strategies including PR, conferences, and speaking engagements.
  • Analyze opportunities, assess risks, and build business cases.
  • Assist in strategies to accelerate go-to-market success.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or higher preferred.
  • Typically 10-12 years of industry experience in the relevant sub-sector.
  • Proven network development and relationship management skills.
  • Knowledge of insurance market drivers and trends.
  • Understanding of the competitive landscape in targeted sectors.
  • Experience in thought leadership, research, publications, or speaking engagements (preferred).
  • International experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex concepts to senior audiences.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25%.

Compensation for US-based roles ranges from $143,800 to $208,600, depending on experience and other factors. Benefits include health coverage, paid time off, 401(k), insurance, stock purchase plans, and tuition reimbursement.
