Job summary

Phenix Technologies in Maryland seeks a Senior Industrial Wiring Technician to lead a production team and complete the wiring and assembly of electrical test equipment. You will interpret electrical schematics to lay out wires, routing and mounting components in cabinets, and ensure quality and safety in all work.

Ideal candidates have 9+ years in industrial wiring, strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work independently or with a team.

Qualifications

Job description

The Senior Industrial Wiring Technician who will work in our Production Department. A Senior Industrial Wiring Technician at Phenix Technologies will be responsible for the complete assembly and wiring of Electrical Test Equipment. This will include using an electrical schematic to determine the layout of the components and the type of wire and cable to be used as well as the routing of wires and cables and the mounting of all components in the cabinets. This position requires the ability to recognize transformers, resistors, capacitors, relays, contactors, diodes, and other electrical components.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Lead a group or team on any product in the Phenix line, both standard and non-standard.
• Exceeds expectations in quality of work, accuracy, and completion of work within allotted time for task.
• Exceptional job knowledge gained through years of on-the-job training.
• Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.
• Ability to communicate with Electrical and Mechanical Engineers to resolve any design problems.
• Follows policies and procedures to maintain a high level of quality and accuracy.
• Soldering of PC boards and other electrical connections.
• Mounts assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets, on a chassis panel.
• Install finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets.
• May be asked to assist in different departments.
• Must be reliable and dependable.
• Assist with on-the-job training when required.
• Ability to take on the role of Team Lead when the Team Lead is absent or away for a period of time.
• Performs other duties as requested by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

• High School Diploma or GED; preferably with classes in Electronics or Electrical Technology
• Technical School in Electrical Technology is a plus; additional experience may be considered

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• 9+ years of experience working in Industrial Wiring
• Outstanding attention to detail
• Must be able to work alone or as part of a team
• Must have very good mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity
• Proficient with Electrical Schematics
• Electrical Wiring, including wire layout / routing
• Working knowledge of safety protocols

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Soldering, including inspection of soldered circuit boards and connections
• Knowledge and use of all hand tools
• Knowledge and use of powered hand tools
• Ability to follow detailed instructions
• Must be able to maintain a clean, safe and functional workstation

While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers and customers. Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job related skills, as well as relevant education or training experience.
Hourly Pay Range Minimum $26.61 - Midpoint $33.26
