Job summary

Kenco Logistics is seeking a Sr Industrial Engineer to operate in a co-managed environment, aligning with Operational leaders and delivering value through its Kenco Operating System (KOS). The role focuses on lean transformation, analytics, and cross-team collaboration to improve service and efficiency.

Your work will span process mapping, value stream improvement, and collaborative projects with data science, IT, and operations to drive measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Logistics Engineering or related discipline.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt required.
  • Experience: 5–7 years in distribution/3PL, or Master’s with 3–5 years.
  • Programming knowledge preferred: Python, R, C++.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and train junior Industrial Engineers.
  • Understand client requirements, budgets, and staffing needs.
  • Lead LMS integration with WCS/WMS and drive process improvements.
  • Develop reporting and analytics to support decision making.

About the Position

Sr Industrial Engineers are in a co-managed environment with Operational leaders, setting the overall project priorities to deliver value to customer networks. This position supports the Kenco Operating System (KOS) model of cultural transformation through the integration operational excellence principles across the enterprise and its value streams to create a complete systemic view, leading to consistent achievement of results.

Functions
  • Mentor and train junior level Industrial Engineers
  • Work with clients to understand business requirements, budgets and staffing needs
  • May lead the implementation of analytics applications like SlotDC, Control Tower, etc., by working with Data Science and BI (Business Intelligence), IT, and Operations teams
  • Work with Data Science and BI and Marketing teams to develop required marketing collateral
  • Train Operations teams on using different BI and Analytics applications/models
  • Build reporting as a storytelling tool – allowing stakeholders to digest insights quickly and to drive action
  • Lead LMS (Labor Management System) integration efforts with WCS (Warehouse Control System) and WMS (Warehouse Management System)
  • Develop best practices and cost reduction activities
  • Partner closely with Customers and Kenco Operations to achieve project results
  • Track value (Value Creation Index, or VCI) created from all assigned projects
  • Ensure Work Measurement systems are developed, implemented and effective
  • Ensure warehouse flow, conduct zoning and slotting assessments, profile analysis etc.

  • Ensure that the correct tools be utilized to solve the most important problems affecting our customer’s satisfaction, quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Utilize lean and six sigma methodologies to reduce waste and variation within the operation
  • Understand Solutions design, Financial model, and Contract Pricing
  • Write business requirement documents and support Requests for Proposal (RFPs)
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Logistics Engineering or related discipline
  • 5-7 years of applied experience in a distribution setting (or 3PL) or a Master’s degree with 3-5 years of experience
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt required
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt required
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Experience with WCS, Automation solutions preferred
  • Programming knowledge preferred (Python, R, C++)
  • Experience in a customer facing role defining expectations and achieving results
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively analyze data to identify trends, performance results, and opportunities for improvement

Travel Requirements

This position is expected to travel approximately 25% or less. A passport is not required but recommended.
