Job summary

The Friedkin Group is seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer to lead industrial engineering initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, cost, capacity, and operational effectiveness.

You will apply Lean methodologies, data analysis, and structured problem-solving to evaluate current operations and implement durable improvements. The role requires 5–7 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s in engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead industrial engineering initiatives to improve safety, quality, productivity, cost, capacity, and operational effectiveness.
• Conduct time studies, work measurement, line balancing, and staffing analyses to set labor standards.
• Develop standardized work, layouts, and material flow to boost ergonomics and throughput.
• Apply Lean/continuous improvement tools (Kaizen, 5S, value stream mapping) and problem-solving.
• Lead cross-functional projects from analysis to sustainment with measurable results.
• Develop capacity models, business cases, and recommendations for new processes or equipment.
• Analyze data and performance to identify root causes and countermeasures and monitor impact.
• Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to implement improvements.

A Day In The Life
The Senior Industrial Engineer is responsible for leading industrial engineering initiatives that improve safety, quality, productivity, cost, capacity, and operational effectiveness. Under the direction of the Sr Mgr, Process Engineering, this role applies industrial engineering principles, Lean methodologies, data analysis, and structured problem-solving to evaluate current operations, identify opportunities, and implement sustainable process improvements.

As a Sr Industrial Engineer you will:

• Analyze processes, workflows, labor utilization, equipment, layouts, and production data to identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, cost, capacity, and operational efficiency.
• Conduct time studies, work measurement, line balancing, and staffing analyses to establish labor standards, optimize resource utilization, and support production requirements.
• Develop and implement standardized work, process flows, workstation and facility layouts, and material flow improvements that enhance consistency, ergonomics, throughput, and operational performance.
• Apply Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies, including Kaizen, 5S, value stream mapping, visual management, waste elimination, and structured problem-solving.
• Lead cross-functional improvement projects from analysis and solution development through implementation, validation, and sustainment, ensuring measurable business results.
• Develop capacity models, business cases, and technical recommendations to support volume changes, new processes, equipment, technology, automation, and other operational investments.
• Analyze operational data, trends, and performance measures to identify root causes, quantify opportunities, develop countermeasures, and monitor the effectiveness of implemented solutions.
• Partner with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and frontline associates to address operational challenges, gain stakeholder alignment, and implement sustainable improvements.
• Manage multiple projects and priorities, communicate project status, risks, and recommendations to leadership, and provide technical guidance to engineers and other team members.

What We Need From You

• Bachelor's Degree in industrial, process, manufacturing, and mechanical engineering or related engineering discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience. Req
• 5-7 years industrial, process, manufacturing, and mechanical engineering experience. Required
• Lean Six Sigma Capability to integrate Lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance process efficiency and quality by eliminating waste, reducing variability, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, ultimately driving organizational performance and customer satisfaction.
• Process Improvement Capability to identify inefficiencies, analyze existing processes, propose and implement changes, and continuously monitor and optimize workflows to enhance productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Kaizen Methodology Capability to use, implement, or oversee an approach to identify and eliminate waste, inefficiencies, and other problems, in a process or system using small, incremental changes to achieve continuous improvement over time, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Quality Control Capability to monitor and evaluate the quality of products, services, or processes, ensuring they meet established standards and specifications by identifying and addressing deviations or defects and continuously improving through corrective and preventive actions to enhance customer satisfaction, reduce errors, and maintain consistency and reliability.
