The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Advising Services, with latitude for independent judgment and decision-making, provides guidance to student advisers on non-immigrant F and J regulations, manages cases, advises on complex immigration issues. The Senior International Advisor serves as both an International Student and Scholar Advisor and the Advising Team’s lead for technology solutions and process optimization. This position is responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of SUNAPSIS/URcompass functionality to streamline operations, enhance the student experience, and ensure compliance with federal immigration regulations.
Working closely with the Advising Team, Systems Team, and University IT, the Senior International Advisor develops electronic forms, workflows, and automated processes; provides system training and support; and oversees online orientation and educational resources for international students. The position also maintains an advising caseload, providing immigration advising and support to F-1 and J-1 students and scholars.
Researches and communicates changes in regulations with appropriate regulatory citations and assists with policy development and delivery of employment workshops and training for students, departments, and faculty. Represents the office on university-wide and internal committees and liaises with governmental agencies.
