HOW A SR. HYBRID CLOUD PLATFORM ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Job Description Summary:

Work on a development team, utilizing Agile scrum methodology, which is responsible for developing and maintaining agency wide asynchronous messaging capability deployed across multiple security domains. The environment supports multiple tenants with a variety of different use cases.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

1. O&M of existing Apache Pulsar services hosted on Red Hat Openshift across multiple security domains in both Cloud and datacenter (vSphere) environments.
2. Support deployment using Red Hat Openshift, Keycloak, Gitlab, Gitlab CI, GitOps, Harbor, and more.
3. Deploy to new sites as they come online.
4. Work with internal and external teams to understand integration requirements.
5. Work with Security to ensure ongoing compliance and develop secure solutions.
6. Compile detailed documentation.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education/Experience:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Programming, Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline.
2. 10+ years Developer experience.
3. Meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements including one of the following: Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA.

Desired Skills:

1. Experience deploying and managing RedHat OpenShift in a cloud and/or vSphere environment.
2. Experience with Amazon Web Services.
3. Python, Shell scripting, Git (desired).
4. Linux distributions: RHEL/RHCOS, CentOS.
5. CI/CD orchestration tools: GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitOps.
6. Container technology: Docker, Kubernetes, and Cloud Native Computing Foundation ecosystem in general.

Desired Certifications:

1. Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift.

Salary Range: The likely salary range for this position is $139,984 - $174,377. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
