Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Senior Health, Safety, Environmental Engineer to develop, implement, and maintain the site’s HSE management system on-site in Tempe. You will support regulatory programs for hazardous waste, air quality, and water quality, and contribute to sustainability initiatives while enhancing safety culture.

You will report to the Sr HSE Manager and work on-site in Tempe, AZ.

Qualifications

• Experience implementing HSE programs and complying with regulations.
• 5+ years hands-on experience in the HSE field.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement the HSE Management System at the Tempe site.
• Manage environmental compliance programs for the site.
• Provide technical assistance on health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Develop and administer training and communications on HSE topics.
• Perform site aspect and impact assessments of the HSE management system.
• Measure key HSE indicators and address gaps.
• Drive waste diversion projects to reduce waste to landfill.
• Support facilities construction projects and maintenance activities.

Job description

As a Honeywell AerospaceSenior Health, Safety, Environmental Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and maintaining the Tempe site’s HSE management system. Your contributions will ensure compliance with the hazardous waste, air quality and water quality programs, support HSE and sustainability initiatives and enhance the site safety culture.

You will report directly to our Sr HSE Manager and work on-site in Tempe, AZ.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implement the Honeywell Health, Safety, Environmental Management System
• Manage the environmental compliance programs for the site
• Provide technical assistance regarding health, safety, environmental compliance requirements
• Develop and administer training and communications to site personnel regarding HSE topics
• Perform site aspect and impact maturity assessments of the HSE management system
• Measure key HSE indicators and implement plans to address gaps
• Drive waste diversion projects to reduce waste sent to landfill
• Support facilities construction projects and maintenance activities

YOU MUST HAVE

• Working knowledge of environmental, health and safety regulations and experience implementing programs to adhere to HSE regulations
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in the HSE field
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and project management skills
• Strong leadership and team management skills

WE VALUE

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, occupational safety, or science related field
• Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in computer technology and Microsoft Office applications
• Familiarity using an HSE reporting software as a solution
• Environmental Compliance Experience
• Experience managing emergency response teams
