Job description

The Human Resources Specialist – Business Partners will assist HR Business Partners with colleague relations investigations, general HR functions, conducting investigations, handling day-to-day questions from colleagues, and creating HR policies.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  2. Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  3. Effective time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  5. Thorough understanding of laws, regulations, and guidelines related to HR and contract negotiations.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, including creating formulas, spreadsheets, and data compilation.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  1. 5-7 years of HR experience.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or a related field.
  3. PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
  4. Experience handling complex employee relations and HR inquiries, referring complex matters to management.
  5. Serve as the initial contact for employee complaints.
  6. Conduct employee relations interviews, gather information, and recommend disciplinary actions related to harassment or other concerns.
  7. Train and mentor HR Specialists.
  8. Act as a point of escalation for colleague concerns.
  9. Assist with recordkeeping related to hiring, termination, leave, transfer, and promotion, especially regarding EEO and organizational initiatives.
  10. Conduct surveys and research on HR policies, compensation, and labor negotiations; report findings to HRBP or HR Director.
  11. Analyze HR trends such as turnover, staffing, and employee relations.
  12. Maintain knowledge of laws related to EEO, affirmative action, collective bargaining, unions, and labor relations.
  13. Create plans, policies, documents, and reports.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.
