POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Sr. Human Resources Generalist is responsible for executing core Human Resources and Employee Relations processes that support the organization's workforce and business operations. This role performs a broad range of responsibilities including payroll administration, employee relations, labor relations support, compliance, benefits administration, onboarding, workforce administration, and policy implementation.
Working closely with managers, employees, and cross-functional partners, the Human Resources Generalist helps ensure consistent application of company policies, regulatory compliance, positive employee experiences, and effective workforce support. The role serves as a key resource for employee-related matters while maintaining accurate HR records, supporting workforce programs, and contributing to a productive and compliant work environment. This is an on-site production plant HR position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND SKILLS:

Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Administer payroll processes and ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of employee compensation, timekeeping, and related records.
  • Maintain employee records, HRIS data, personnel files, and workforce information in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities including new hire documentation, orientation, system setup, employee records creation, and benefits enrollment.
  • Support benefits administration activities including enrollments, status changes, employee inquiries, and vendor coordination.
  • Assist with talent acquisition activities including job postings, interview scheduling, candidate communication, onboarding coordination, and employment documentation.
  • Support the administration of HR programs, policies, procedures, and employee communications.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws as well as company policies and internal controls.
  • Prepare routine HR reports, payroll reports, workforce data, and compliance documentation as required.
  • Respond to employee and manager inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, HR policies, and employment-related matters.
  • Support employee lifecycle activities including hiring, onboarding, transfers, status changes, and separations.
Requirements
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Labor Relations, Industrial Relations, or a related field required
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive Human Resources experience across multiple HR disciplines, including Human Resources Operations, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Employee Relations, Performance Management, or Workforce Planning.
  • Demonstrated experience administering and supporting Human Resources programs, policies, and procedures related to payroll, benefits, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, or workforce administration.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to interpret, apply, and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable employment laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling employee and workplace matters.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to effectively support employees, managers, and business partners.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to build positive working relationships and collaborate effectively across departments and organizational levels.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and integrity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and support continuous improvement initiatives.
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Professional certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or other related Human Resources certifications preferred.
  • Experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), SAP, Paylocity, or similar systems preferred.
  • Experience supporting Human Resources operations, payroll administration, employee relations, labor relations, benefits administration, onboarding, or compliance activities preferred.
  • Experience conducting workplace investigations, administering corrective actions, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation preferred.
  • Previous Human Resources or Labor Relations experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English proficiency strongly preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
  • A typical work week is 40 hours/week.
  • Working hours for employees are flexible with a typical day starting 7am- 9am M-F.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Office work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.
