Qualifications

  • Must have HR Supervisory experience. Ideally, 5+ years of leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Leadership principles and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of legal employment procedures and multi-state oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Advocates company policies and HR initiatives to minimize disruption.
  • Conducts investigations, audits, reporting per policy and directives.
  • Ensures compliance with immigration requirements including E-Verify and I-9.
  • Executes annual tactical plans to drive recruitment, engagement, and retention.

Job Summary

The Senior Human Resources Business Partner provides human resources consultation and support to designated business groups to define and execute HR strategies that enable accomplishment of business objectives. Actively participates in the development, planning, and implementation of engagement, compliance, and procedures in line with Sundt's strategic objectives. Utilizes knowledge of various human resources functions to provide tactical support to line managers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advocates company policies and procedures by communicating the business value of HR initiatives and managing HR

program roll out to minimize business disruption.

  • Conducts various complex investigations, audits, outside charges, reporting requirements, training, and others as needed, in line with the applicable company policy and/or regulatory directives.
  • Ensures compliance with federal immigration regulations including 1-9, E-Verify, and Department of Labor requirements related to sponsored employees.
  • Executes on annual tactical plans and strategies to drive key business results focused on recruitment, improving employee engagement, and retention.
  • Leverages HR data analytics and workforce metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities; provides data-driven insights to business leaders.
  • Maintain awareness of the culture, plans, financial position, and competition of the business units under the HR purview.
  • Manages processes related to foreign national employees, including work authorization, visa sponsorship, and immigration compliance.
  • Partners with business leaders to solve complex people and cultural issues.
  • Provides expertise in technical and regulatory aspects of the employment life cycle to include during hiring, termination, performance management, rewards, etc.
  • Serves as a Trusted Advisor to employee owners and managers by effectively and collaboratively providing assistance in employee relations, while fostering trust that enhances the employee owner experience.
  • Supervises staff of HR contributors.
Minimum Job Requirements
  • Ability to travel across the country including construction job sites where PPE is required. Travel is 15-20%.
  • Educational experience should include a combination of college courses and/or certificate courses in Human Resources development. Prefer certifications in PHR, SPHR, SHRM CP, or SHRM SCP.
  • Must have HR Supervisory experience. Ideally, 5+ years of leadership experience. Strong knowledge of Leadership principles and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of legal employment procedures and multi-state oversight. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex employee relations matters. Knowledge of ADA and Interactive Process.
  • Ten (10) years of related HR experience within the construction/heavy manufacturing. HR experience to include heavy employee relations, employee engagement measurement, labor compliance e.g. 19 and E-Verify requirements, and other Department of Labor audits/investigations (e.g. OSHA, EEOC, Wage and Hour)

  • Will lift, push or pull objects up to 50Ibs on an occasional basis.
  • Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift/work day.
  • Will use telephone, computer system, email, and other electronic devices on a frequent basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors
