Job summary

AMD is seeking a Sr. HR Advisor in Austin to partner with HR leaders and business stakeholders, translating workforce data into actionable insights and delivering enterprise-wide HR programs that drive growth.

You will combine HR consulting, program management, and data analytics to support HR Business Partners, manage cyclical programs, and influence decision-making across talent, performance, rewards, and engagement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in HR operations, analytics, or program management.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and data-driven decision making.
  • Experience developing executive-level presentations and dashboards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and HR systems (e.g., SuccessFactors).
  • Excellent consulting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for continuous learning and process improvement.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

AMD is seeking a Sr. HR Advisor to join our Human Resources team in Austin. In this role, you will combine HR consulting, program management, and data analytics to support HR Business Partners and business leaders across multiple organizations. You will play a key role in delivering strategic HR programs, generating workforce insights, and driving operational excellence across talent, performance, rewards, and engagement initiatives.

This position offers the opportunity to partner with HR leaders and business stakeholders to transform data into actionable insights, improve HR processes, and help execute enterprise-wide people programs that support AMD's continued growth and innovation.

THE PERSON:

You are an analytical and consultative HR professional who enjoys solving complex business challenges through data, collaboration, and strategic thinking. You will consult and assist with the administration of HR programs such as performance management, compensation planning, talent planning, and employee relations matters while identifying areas for process improvement. You are expected to translate data into meaningful insights, and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

You thrive in situations that require influence, adaptability, strong judgment, and attention to detail. You are equally comfortable supporting operational HR activities, leading projects, and identifying opportunities to improve processes, programs, and employee experiences.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Analyze workforce data and HR metrics using advanced analytics and AI-enabled tools to identify trends, generate insights, and support business decision‑making.
  • Develop executive summaries, reports, dashboards, and presentations that communicate key findings and recommendations to HR and business leaders.
  • Ability to link content across several disciplines.
  • Apply business knowledge and HR expertise to identify workforce trends, opportunities, and actionable recommendations that support organizational objectives.
  • Lead and support the planning, implementation, communication, and execution of cyclical HR programs, including performance management, compensation planning, talent planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners and management teams to provide guidance on HR programs, talent strategies, workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, change management, leadership development, and employee relations matters.
  • Manage project timelines, program structures, stakeholder communications, and key deliverables to ensure successful execution and operational excellence.
  • Partner with HR Centers of Excellence and cross‑functional stakeholders to enhance enterprise‑wide HR programs, support strategic initiatives, improve employee experiences, and drive continuous process improvement and business outcomes.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience in Human Resources, HR Operations, HR Business Partner support, workforce analytics, or program management.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with experience researching, assessing, and validating data to drive actionable business recommendations.
  • Experience developing executive‑level presentations, summaries, dashboards, and reports.
  • Strong HR operational knowledge and experience supporting talent management, performance management, compensation planning, workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, or employee relations initiatives.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, and familiarity with HR systems such as SuccessFactors or similar platforms.
  • Strong consulting, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across multiple levels of an organization.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing business needs, and deliver high-quality results.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a highly collaborative team environment.
  • Passion for continuous learning, process improvement, and delivering exceptional customer service.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field is preferred.
