Job summary

Amazon Robotics seeks a Global Trade Compliance Program Manager to drive HTS and ECCN classification across its growing product portfolio, from concept to GA. You will lead classification strategy and own key gates in the Product Development Process.

You will partner with engineering, transportation, tax and legal to balance compliance with cost and delivery timelines, build training, and implement process improvements.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• 6+ years’ experience commensurate with extensive knowledge of handling imports and/or exports in accordance with foreign government regulations.
• Deep HTS classification and ECCN determination for complex manufactured goods.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute global HTS/ECCN classification strategy across all product lines.
• Own PDP gates: initial ECCN/HTS assessment, BOM classification, export readiness, and post-entry monitoring.
• Identify and drive automation, simplification and process improvements.

• Create training and communications for partners on trade governance.

The Robotics Trade Supply Chain Controls (RTSCC) team is seeking a Global Trade Compliance Program Manager who thrives in ambiguity and enjoys tackling large-scale, complex challenges in a fast-paced, startup-like setting. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of global trade regulation, supply chain operations, and robotics innovation.

As a single threaded leader, you will be responsible for developing and executing the global strategy for product classification (HTS, ECCN) across Amazon Robotics' expanding product portfolio.

Key job responsibilities

• Develop and execute the global product classification strategy for HTS and ECCN across all Amazon Robotics product lines, from concept through General Availability (GA).
• Own critical compliance gates throughout the Product Development Process (PDP): initial ECCN/HTS assessment, full BOM classification, export readiness validation, and post-entry compliance monitoring
• Proactively identify and drive automation, simplification, and process improvement initiatives
• Effectively navigate trade-offs and priorities, ensuring we prioritize the right work to achieve business objectives.
• Develop, document, and maintain operational processes and procedures.
• Work across organizations (engineering, commodity management, transportation, tax, and legal) to drive partner and customer solutions to meet immediate needs and achieve shared objectives. This requires a balance of compliance requirements against business costs, supply chain strategy, delivery timelines, and legal risks.
• Build communications and training plans to ensure all internal and external partners are aware and aligned to trade compliance governance processes.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• 6+ years’ experience commensurate with extensive knowledge of handling imports and/or exports in accordance with foreign government regulations

• Deep expertise in HTS classification and ECCN determination for complex manufactured goods (hardware, electronics, robotics, or similar)

Preferred Qualifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
• Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent
• Ability to apply trade knowledge to business flows, and understand priorities from a financial and tax assessment perspective highly desirable
• Demonstrated experience developing and executing classification programs at scale across multiple jurisdictions
